Interviews qualitative

Through interviewing we wanted to capture the journalists narratives about the circumstances of their work, e.g. the national context, the specifics of the newspapers and journals, the interest in environmental issues in newsrooms, etc. as well as their own professional and personal experiences of reporting in this particular area. One significant advantage with the use of qualitative interviews is that it offers the journalists the opportunity to illuminate their points inductively and indirectly, without being too restricted by a predefined (interview) form (Kvale 1997).

In our discussion, the results related to general clothing disposal methods based on survey results are presented first. This is followed by disposal methods of specific clothing items based on wardrobe smdy, and finally the disposal frequency based on survey data. These themes include a discussion of demographic characteristics of consumers that select specific disposal methods. Interviews are used throughout the results section in order to interpret and explain the quantitative data. Participants of the qualitative interviews are referred to as informants, while the participants to the quantitative survey are referred to as respondents. 

The strengths and weaknesses with qualitative HSE assessment are discussed in this paper. The two case studies are described and the results are discussed based on theory on employees involvement and the qualitative interview method as a coimnunicative activity. 

Sequential mixed methods procedures are those in which the researcher seeks to elaborate on or expand on the findings of one method with another method. This may involve beginrting with a qualitative interview for exploratory purposes and following up with a quantitative, survey method with a large sample so that the researcher can generalize results to a population. Alternatively, the study rrray begin with a quantitative method in which a theory or concept is tested, followed by a qualitative method involving detailed exploration with a few cases or individuals.

We earried out 25 small qualitative interviews. During the interviews we asked the students about their likes or dislikes of the serious games whieh had been applied. All students liked the games, but the female students (18) underlined that they would reeommend this module to their classmates because of the applieation of serious games. 

In order to answer the research questions a triangulation of quantitative and qualitative methods (Golafshani 2003, Hofstatter et al. 2010) is used which comprises qualitative interviews with IT students in the higher education sector in Austria and a quantitative analysis of IT study programmes.

Tanzania, which investigated supply chains from local producers and importers into the health sector. Qualitative interviews and quantitative data collection on availability, somce and price of a checklist of tracer medicines and other essential supplies were conducted in hoth countries. In Tanzania, 42 health facilities (public, faith-based and private), pharmacies and drug shops across four very diverse districts were visited (Tibandebage et al., 2014), while in Kenya, 55 health facilities, pharmacies and shops were interviewed in a comparative study (Kariuki et al., 2015). Following these supply chain studies, wholesalers, manufacturers and poUcy and regulatory stakeholders were interviewed in both countries in 2013-14. This chapter draws also on some of these interviews, alongside secondary data somces. 

The research is based on qualitative interviews with men and women software engineers in software engineering- and consultancy companies in Norway, Malaysia and California.
