Moreover, the structure of gels produced depends substantially on precipitation conditions and is determined by the precipitation temperature, pH of the medium, initial composition of solution, its concentration, of sequential mixing of solutions or conditions of introduction of precipitating agent [7]. It should be noted here that even in the production of one-component gel, periodicity of precipitation gives a product with a non-homogeneous structure which, as a rule, forms adsorbents with a set of pores different in size. Therefore, strict observance of all the conditions of sample synthesis enumerated above is absolutely necessary. 

CFA is very often used in process control. In CFA, the sampling process consists of samples flowing sequentially and continuously in a tube, where each sequentially mixes with reagents in the same tube at the same point downstream and then flows sequentially into a detector. Another automated device type is the discrete analyzer where the analysis is made by taking a batch sample at selected intervals and subjecting it to analysis. The main advantage of CFA is the objectivity assured by operator elimination at the sample pickup and sampling steps. However, when the complexity of the sample that is to be analyzed increases, CFA does not offer reliable analytical information therefore, one should use discrete analyzers as an alternative. 

Continuous-flow sampling instruments. In continuous-flow sampling, the samples flow sequentially and continuously in a mbe, perhaps being separated by air bubbles. They are each sequentially mixed with reagents in the same tube at the same point downstream and then flow sequentially into a detector.

Mixed methods strategies which include sequential mixed methods, concurrent mixed methods and transformative mixed methods. 

Sequential mixed methods procedures are those in which the researcher seeks to elaborate on or expand on the findings of one method with another method. This may involve beginrting with a qualitative interview for exploratory purposes and following up with a quantitative, survey method with a large sample so that the researcher can generalize results to a population. Alternatively, the study rrray begin with a quantitative method in which a theory or concept is tested, followed by a qualitative method involving detailed exploration with a few cases or individuals. 

It should be noted that not all authors use the same terminology concerning the type of crystallization. Especially the terms cocrystallization and concurrent crystallization are often confused. By sequential mixing of DMSO, alcohols and reagents, with the aid of a serially connected network of micromixers (IMM) and microtube reactors, carbonyl products were obtained in good to excellent yields, and formation of undesired side-products was minimized as well (Scheme 5.49). The reaction was efficient even at 20 °C, provided that the residence time was very short (2-5 s). Such a short reaction time ensures immediate transfer of the highly unstable intermediates for the subsequent reaction before their decomposition.
