Coating of hydrophilic matrices with water-soluble polymers such as Opadry or low-viscosity HPMC generally does not alter drug release profiles. Coating with water-insoluble polymers such as ethylcellulose may be used for modulating the drug release profile from HPMC matrices. 

LDPE is available as natural and coloured granules or powder, and in sheet and film form. Low density polyethylene can be processed by injection moulding, blow moulding, extrusion for film, sheet, pipe, profiles, coatings and wire covering, and by calendering and rotational moulding. Sheet material is formable by all techniques.

AppHcatioas of dibasic lead phthalate, coated grade, iaclude 90 and 105°C rated PVC electrical iasulation, plastisols, profile extmsions, calendered sheet, and molded products. The recommended range of usage ia viayl electrical iasulatioa is 5—7 parts pet huadred resia, depending oa the particular iasulatioa classiftcatioa to be met. Ia geaeral-purpose extmded and molded PVC stocks, approximately 3—6 phr of coated dibasic lead phthalate is suggested.

Cyclohexanediamine is marketed by Milliken Chemical as an epoxy curative, Millamine 5260. It may be adducted with epichlorohydrin to generate solventiess low viscosity curatives for varnishes and surface coatings (76). Other cycloaHphatic diamines have long been modified as epoxy curatives to modify their reactivity profile (77). 

Antimony tris(isooctylthioglycolate) has found use in pipe formulations at low levels. Its disadvantage is that it cross-stains with sulfide-based tin stabilizers (122). Barium—zinc stabilizers have found use in plasticized compounds, replacing barium—cadmium stabilizers. These are used in mol dings, profiles, and wire coatings. Cadmium use has decreased because of environmental concerns surrounding certain heavy metals.
