TOXICITY (HYPERVITAMINOSIS K). The natural forms of vitamins K, and Kj have not produced toxicity even when given in large amounts. However, synthetic menadione and its various derivatives (formerly called K,) have produced toxic symptoms in rats and jaundice in human infants when given in amounts of more than 5 mg daily.
