Polyethylene suppliers

Euzenac talcs as reinforcing and barrier additives for polyethylene, supplier product literature (POE T GB 22 07). RioTinto Minerals 2007. [Pg.257]

A number of polyethylene glycols are also available in molecular weight ranges from commercial suppliers. These are made by initiating the polymerization of ethylene oxide by hydroxide ion. The corresponding monomethyl (or monoalkyl ethers) can be made in a similar fashion by initiating the polymerization with an alcohol. The general reaction is shown below in Eq. (7.2). [Pg.313]

Anhydrous HF was first produced commercially in the USA in 1931 and in the UK from about 1942. By 1992 some eighteen countries were each producing at least 3000 tonnes pa with North America accounting for some 330000 tonnes of the estimated annual world production of about 875 000 tormes, A further 205 000 tonnes was used captively for production of AIF3. Price in 1990 was about l.50/kg for the anhydrous acid and somewhat less for 70% acid. The primary suppliers ship HF in tank-cars of 20-91-tonne capacity and the product is also repackaged in steel cylinders holding 8.0-900 kg (2.7-635 kg in the UK). Lecture bottles contain 340 g HF. The 70% acid is shipped in tank-cars of 32-80-tonne capacity, tank trucks of 20-tonne capacity, and in polyethylene-lined drums holding 114 or 208 I,... [Pg.810]

The proper combination of plastic and product will result in a good product with good mutual chemistry. With polyethylene and many food products, there are no problems to be solved. With other proposed combinations, a cooperative effort between the food product manufacturer, the container producer, and the resin supplier is needed to produce a high quality product. [Pg.66]

Liquid ammonia is supplied in cylinders (Section 4.2.5, p. 417) which incorporate a simple tap valve with a screw-thread wide-bore outlet. Although a special gas-reducing valve may be obtained from the suppliers, for most purposes it is adequate to screw on to the outlet a wide-bore metal-tube adapter (Fig. 2.69(a)) to which may be fitted wide-bore rubber or stout polyethylene tubing, secured by copper wire. When the cylinder is upright only ammonia gas... [Pg.117]

Polyethylene glycol 4000 MW is normally used for cell fusions. Batches may vary in their ability to produce viable hybridomas and it is wise to test a few batches from different sources prior to undertaking hybridoma project work. A number of biochemical suppliers now produce ready-to-use PEG/media solutions in sterile ampoules, which workers may find is a more practical source. [Pg.32]

Materials. Low density polyethylene (LDPE) foils (thickness 37 im) were purchased from a commercial supplier. Some LDPE samples were cross-linked using electron beam irradiation (dose 250 kGy) under inert gas conditions. S02 of > 99.98% purity as well as compressed air were received from Linde AG. [Pg.55]

PEI-thin layer plates Plastic sheets coated with PEI (polyethylene-imine)-cellulose for thin-layer chromatography. 20 x 20 cm sheets Polygram CEL 300 PEI/UV254 obtainable from Macherey-Nagel Co., 516 Diiren, Werkstrasse, 6-8, Postfach 307, West Germany or from laboratory suppliers. [Pg.306]

Another contrarian, DSM in the Netherlands, had been a state-owned company before it became privatized, a process that began in 1989 and was completed in 1996. From its past it had inherited positions in fertilizers, industrial chemicals, and such intermediates as melamine and caprolactam as well as polyolefins, with access to basic olefins through its own crackers in Geleen, Netherlands. In 1997 DSM acquired the polyethylene and polypropylene operations of FIuls (VEBA) with the Gelsenkirchen site. The company had also diversified into elastomers, having purchased in the United States the Copolymer Rubber and Chemical Corporation, which contributed to DSM s expansion into the fields of ethylene propylene, styrene butadiene, and nitrile rubbers. DSM is also a supplier of industrial resins and engineering... [Pg.60]

When more than one plastic resin is used to fabricate bottles, it is necessary to demonstrate the equivalency of the container produced using the different resins. In addition, comparative data derived from light transmission, chemical resistance, extractables, and moisture permeation/vapor transmission tests described in the USP should be provided as applicable to the type of product. (For example, moisture permeation for an aqueous dosage form would not be necessary). Whereas the compendia discuss these tests only in the context of polyethylene, the guideline makes no distinction as to the resin used. It also should be verified that copies of letters authorizing FDA reference to appropriate DMFs from manufacturers of the resins used to fabricate bottles and from the bottle fabricator s), if available, are included. Although most resin suppliers include information on extractables data in their DMFs, it should be pointed out that fabricators may have to add release agents or other additives not covered by extractables data in the DMF of the resin supplier. [Pg.208]

At the moment, there are a growing number of biodegradable polymers performing well in niche applications. Many of these materials can be even more cost competitive in the future compared to petroleum-based resins including PET, polyethylene (PE), and polypropylene (PP) as suppliers develop better material properties that can lead to thinner films or lower processing costs. [Pg.9]

Poly-y-benzyl-7-glutamate, M = 300,000 (1 g of solid or 25 mL of 2.5 weight percent solution) ethylene dichloride-dichloroacetic acid solvent (76 volume percent DCA) stored in polyethylene bottle wash acetone. The polypeptide can be obtained from Sigma Chemical Co., P.O. Eox 14508, St. Louis, MO 63178. Check the current Chem. Sources for other suppliers. [Pg.334]

Both polyethylene glycol and ammonium sulfate can be obtained through the catalog of any supplier of general laboratory chemicals. [Pg.289]
