Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption/lonization Time-of-liight Mass Spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS, PerSeptive Biosystems Voyager-DE STR) was used to characterize the molecular weight distribution and the number average molecular weight (M ) of the poly(methacrylic acid) (PMAA) degradation products as described elsewhere [25]. [Pg.190]

The use of diisoprop anolamine in the synthesis of the hyperbranched poly-esteramide resins has led to defined molecules according to the predicted structures (Fig. 7) as confirmed by MALDI-TOF (Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization - Time Of Flight) and ESI (Electro Spray Ionization) mass spectra... [Pg.46]

There has been considerable debate over the reason why TEMPO does not work well for acrylates. CNRS researchers utilized NMR and matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight (MALDI-TOF) techniques to look at the terminal end-groups on poly(n-butyl acrylate) produced using TEMPO mediation [19]. They found that most of the chains were terminated by co-unsaturation resulting from either elimination or O-H TEMP from the chain-end or disproportionation between TEMPO and the polyradical (Scheme 8.7). [Pg.157]

Laser desorption/ionization (LDI) and matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight (MALDI-TOF) MSs have become useful tools for the characterization of various conducting polymers. For instance, analysis of poly[2,5-di(thien-2-ylidene)-l,3,4,6-tetrathiapentalene] 56 (DT-TTP) showed ions above mlz = 500 corresponding to oligomers of DT-TTP with up to five monomer units <2000JMP550>. [Pg.967]

For natural poly-APS alkaloids (77), matrix assisted laser desorption ionization-time-of-flight (MALDI-TOF) spectrometric analysis showed that the compounds comprised a mixture of two polymers with molecular weights centred at around 5520 Da and 18900 Da and with a low degree of polydispersity [34]. [Pg.380]

In poly(ether sulfone)s that are prepared by polycondensation of silyl-ated 4-terf-butylcatechol and 4,4 -difluorodiphenyl sulfone, macrocyclic polymers were obtained to some extent. The cyclic polymers were detected by means of matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time of flight (MALDI-TOF) mass spectrometry. [Pg.248]
