Platform as a Service

From Fig. 1 we can see the students are the main entity and already using many of the cloud platforms like Software as a Service (SaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) for obtaining the advantages of the ability of working and communicating in the educational sector. The faculty can also benefit from the cloud platform for teaching and research purposes. Now, they will not worry for loss of lecture material, not need to carry study materials for security in pen drives or disks, etc. Third, the entity staff, specially developers, can benefit from Infrastructure as a Service (laaS)... 

While initially designed as a service platform to be used by other CRC subprojects, much of the functionality of the PDW has been validated by specialized information and experience management tools that have been developed as part of this subproject (Cl). In the remainder of this section, this interplay between service platform and application tools will reappear regularly. 

From time to time most complex HIT systems unexpectedly become partly or fully unavailable. Modem systems are architected to minimise the impact of such occurrences on the level of service experienced by the user. In case of a major disaster, one platform in a region will be equipped to act as a control centre from which rescue operations are co-ordinated. Evacuation routes will be provided, and where large complexes are clustered together, a standby vessel will be available in the region to supply emergency services such as fire fighting and rescue. 

Scalability implies an ability to use the very resources that generate services in the present as platforms for future growth. Using terminology offered by March (1991), scalability represents structures and processes wherein exploration occurs as a byproduct of exploitation. Another annoying feature of most audit assessment tools is that they provide information about the vulnerabilities found, and not the ones that do not exist in the information system. It is therefore difficult to practice anticorrelation and degrade the severity of events that are not security risks for the information system. To obtain this effect, we currently manually maintain a set of simple rules indicating which vulnerability sets cannot be found in our corporate network. For example, we exclude all IIS vulnerabilities from events coming from hosting zones, as we do not offer this platform in our services. Note that we do not consider here the case where the vulnerability assessment tool fails to discover the vulnerability. Audit information is considered trusted.
