The waste plastics utilized at the SPR plant are the household waste plastics specified by the Containers Packaging Recycling Law and marked as recyclable on the each of the products. The waste plastics are discharged at curbside by residents once per week, and collected, sorted, compacted in bale form by the local government, which then snpplies the SPR plant. [Pg.678]

The SPR plant handles of 43 tons/day on a two-line pretreatment section, 40 tons/day on a two-line pyrolysis and oil distillation section, and operates a 2000 kW x 2 line cogeneration facilities (Fignre 26.7) that nses pyrolysis heavy oil as fnel. Refuse-Derived Fuel. Many processing faciUties divert a portion of the material that is not recovered for recycling to waste-to-energy plants, also referred to as resource recovery faciUties, where the material is employed as fuel. The processes involved in the production of refuse-derived fuel (RDF) are outlined in Figure 4 (23). Nine different RDFs have been defined, as Hsted in Table 3 (24). There are several ways to prepare RDF-3, which is perhaps the most popular form and is the feed used in the preparation of densified refuse-derived fuel (d-RDF). AH forms of RDF are part of the broader set of waste-derived fuels (WDF), which includes various waste biomass, eg, from silvaculture or agriculture (see Fuels frombiomass Fuels fromwaste). [Pg.545]

Soybeans. Vktuady ad soybeans processed in the United States are solvent-extracted with hexane to recover the od. This traditional process is outlined in Figure 4. Essentially, the analytical approach outlined above for the open circuit gas turbine plants is that used in modem computer codes.
