Another remotely activated device has been described by Groning et al. (57). They demonstrated in a model the remote control of a device to delivery insulin (Fig. 7). This possibility of external programming and monitoring of insulin pumps is possible for continuous subcutaneous infusion. The use of SMS allows immediate transfer of commands to the pump. There are many pitfalls to overcome the ethics of taking control away from the patients and their carer is but one, and there are safety issues, should the GPS system fad, and presumably if in error the pump is activated by the physician or indeed by individuals accidentally. But there is no doubt that telepharmacy wiU impact on future medicine, whether personalized or not. The personal element could come simply as a result of automated reminders to patients to take their medications also discussed above, but the more sophisticated systems described by Groning et al. wiU also have their place. 

The transformation range is different for each indicator. Apart from the personal element involved in making observations, the interval depends upon the depth of the liquid layer being observed, the indicator concentration, and the temperature. The influence of indicator concentration especially has never been sufficiently considered. Since this effect is of utmost importance in the colorimetric determination of hydrogen ion concentration as well as in many titrations, it will be discussed thoroughly in the next section.

This book is an introduction to computational chemistr y, molecular mechanics, and molecular orbital calculations, using a personal mieroeomputer. No speeial eom-putational skills are assumed of the reader aside from the ability to read and write a simple program in BASIC. No mathematieal training beyond ealeulus is assumed. A few elements of matrix algebra are introdueed in Chapter 3 and used throughout. 

In June 1974, members of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna, U.S.S.R., reported their discovery of Element 106, which they reported to have synthesized. Glenn Seaborg was part of this group, and the element was named in his honor. Seaborgium is often still referred to as Element 106 because the international committee in charge of names changed the rules. They decided retroactively it couldn t be named after a living person.

Tlie next section of the patent is tided "The Detailed Description of the Preferred Embodiment", Q (Fig. lb), often a multipage work serving several functions. First, the detailed description should provide an illustration of the invention in both its broadest or simplest sense and in its most preferred sense. Any elements of the invention that the inventor beheves are crucial to the success or performance of the invention must also be included within this description. Further, tbi< description should provide an explanation of the invention that is definite and illustrative, so as to allow persons having nothing but die patent before diem to practice or use die invention in the manner intended. This description should be understood by those who work in the area that covers the subject matter of the patent. 

The need for weU-trained technical service professionals is expected to continue as an essential aspect of the chemical industry, despite the phenomenal growth ia electronic methods of information storage, retrieval, and transmission. Advanced troubleshooting of complex customer processes and accelerated accurate product development and market introductions should continue to be principal elements of technical service personnel duties. Increased levels of integration, perhaps blurring the lines between suppHer and customer, may come to pass. There are already instances of personnel swapping between customers and suppHers for extended periods to allow cross-fertilization of ideas and provide more accurate perspectives for the companies involved in these efforts. Technical service and research personnel have been those persons most directly involved in such efforts. 

The human element, seen in errors, ignorance, lack of training, lethargy, illiteracy or indiscipline, or indifference, must be monitored carefully. This may require either an adequately qualified and experienced person or proper job training. Indifference, for reasons other than the above, would be a matter for human resource development, where a worker s skills and habits may have to be adapted to fit into the system. 

To be successful, a team selected from different groups within the project team should participate in the preparation and review of these plans. In addition, a schedule of the review and approval process for these plans needs to be established, accepted by all reviewers, and distributed before release of the first draft. Reviewers should meet an established schedule for review and submission of comments. A distinction between review and approval authority should be determined. The review process determines if all of the required elements are identified. This review can take considerable time, depending on the complexity of the project. The approval process is important when all comments are incorporated. The key responsible persons associated with the project should accept and approve the changes to the document. 

Compliance with the written program can be verified during the walkaround by personal observation and employee interviews. If respirators are required to be worn in the workplace or respirators other than dust masks are worn by voluntary users, a written program is required. An overexposure is not required to cite. Discrepancies between the written program and implemented work practices at the worksite should be cited. Use of a elastomeric or supplied-air respirator, even when voluntary on the part of the employee, will require the employer to include all elements in a written program that will make sure that there is proper use of these respirators so that they do not create a hazard. 

One simple way to start this task is first to identify those benefits as they relate to your company s operations. You might systematically review CCPS twelve elements of PSM, asking yourself at each stage, "Why is this a good idea " "What s the benefit of doing this " Then put yourself in the position of your selected sponsor and consider each element from that person s perspective. Ask yourself, "How can this activity or approach make my sponsor s job easier " "How would this activity improve my company "... 

The level of effort estimates given in Exhibit 4-1 are for time used by the project team. Design time is an estimate of the number of person days that will be needed to develop a fully defined system program/element or management process starting with the data collected during the assessment phase. 

The person responsible for the design must know drill string performance properties, data from wells already drilled in the nearest vicinity and current prices of the drill string elements. 

An assessment of each element of the program of work is carried out using the Assessment of Potential Hazards Form APHl (see below), which is to be completed by the person responsible for the task to be carried out. This may include hot work cutting/grinding work on electrical systems working alone use of hazardous materials (e.g. chemicals, solvents, etc.) confined spaces or any other work which may be of a hazardous nature.
