ECF is successfully used on a commercial scale to produce certain perfluoroacyl fluorides, perfluoroalkylsulfonyl fluorides, perfluoroalkyl ethers, and perfluoroalkylamines. The perfluoroacyl fluorides and perfluoroalkylsulfonyl fluorides can be hydrolyzed to form the corresponding acid and acid derivatives.
