Partikel Messtechnik (PMT) manufacture a range of microprocessor controlled 16 and 32 channel analyzers. [Pg.486]

Optical counters have been widely used to monitor cleanroom technology and particles in oil. Instmments manufactured by Royco Inc. (Menlo Park, California) are available for studying aerosols and particles in Hquids. The HIAC counter (HIAC Instmments, Monte Claire, California) is a widely used stream counter for particles in fluid. One of the more recently developed optical counters is available from Particle Sizing Systems (Santa Barbara, California). Effect of Bisphenol A Addition Two-Particle Size Systems. If we modify the Hycar CTBN-epoxy resin system so as to produce a two-particle size system, we can produce the toughest epoxy resins. We modified the CTBN-epoxy resin system by adding bisphenol A. A many-fold improvement in fracture energy is obtained when Hycar CTBN is used with bisphenol A and epoxy resin. The maximum improvement, when 5 phr Hycar CTBN is used, is at a bisphenol A concentration of 24 parts per hundred parts of epoxy resin. Particle size measurements were made using an UV-laser, shadow photographic technique. The particle sizing system displayed real-time droplet images onto a television monitor. The images (shadows) were obtained when a pulsed (30 times per second) UV-laser beam was directed through a spray scene onto a synchronized UV-sensitive vidicon camera/recorder. The narrow depth of field used by this system can record shadows from 300 in-focus droplets per second with a resolution down to approximately 0.3 /un in diameter. [Pg.119]
