Paragraphs, numbered

This checklist is to be used to indicate the purchaser s specific requirements when this standard indicates that a decision is required by the purchaser. In this standard, items requiring a decision are indicated by a bullet preceding the paragraph number. 

The format is identical to the example that is listed above and luckily, many online publications provide paragraph numbers as well as page numbers, so be sure to include them whenever available. Remember the more specific that you can be, the better. Finally, if you are citing an online posting that comes from an informal source such as a chat room or bulletin board, simply write the name of the person to whom you can attribute a statement. 

The FDA statements in Subpart K are much more explicit and detailed. While the EPA statements are described in just the two paragraphs mentioned above, the FDA statements are written in a total of eight paragraphs. The paragraph numbers and titles are listed in Box 7.6. 

Whichever note-taking method you choose, always remember to record bibliographic information and the specific page numbers (in printed sources) or paragraph numbers (in some electronic sources) from which your material is taken. Your notes may be one of the following kinds ... 

Note Some instructors may ask you to include the paragraph number, the screen number, or the page number of the reference within the electronic source s total number of pages, especially if the document is lengthy. The example that follows shows how a reader could quickly find the information in the sixth paragraph instead of searching through the entire document. 

Use of Reference Markers Unfortunately, many online sources do not use markers such as page or paragraph numbers. If such information is available to you, include it in your citations by all means if it does not exist, readers must fend for themselves when accessing your sources. (Some readers might locate particular information in a document by using the Find tool in their computer program, but this option is not always available or useful.)...

Like the first report, the paragraph numbering of this "Concerns" document was edited to fit the format of this book. 

The same paragraph number system is used by the agency as for SEMS. Once more, the proposed rule is presented in a two-column table, with the first column quoting the rule and the second column providing some discussion.

To use the CFR, you need an understanding of the hierarchy of the paragraph numbering system. The numbering system is a mixture of letters and numbers. Prior to 1979, italicized lowercase letters and lowercase roman nnmerals were nsed. A change was made after 1979.

A brief summary of the key requirements from the main HSE publications is given overleaf. Numbers refer to paragraph numbers in the relevant documents. 

The lEC 61508 headings are summarized in the following pages and also map to the headings in Chapters 3 and 4. This is because the Standard repeats the process for systems hardware (Part 2) and for software (Part 3). lEC 65108 Part 1 lists these in its Table 1 with associated paragraphs of text. The following text refers to the items in lEC 61508 Part 1 Table 1 and provides the associated paragraph numbers. 

The relevant paragraph numbers are indicated on the attached plan to enable easy Identification of the significant uncontrolled material hazards Identified In this assessment. 

Revisions The A10 Committee welcomes proposals for revisions to this standard. Revisions are made to the standard periodically (usually five years from the date of the standard) to incorporate changes that appear necessary or desirable, as demonstrated by experience gained from the application of the standard. Proposals should be as specific as possible, citing the relevant paragraph number(s), the proposed wording, and the reason for the proposal. Pertinent documentation would enable the A10 Committee to process the changes in a more timely manner. 

The elements of SEMP are listed, along with the corresponding SEMS paragraph number. Each numbered item has the phrase with additional clarification tagged on to it. The use of the word clarification is somewhat disingenuous BOEMRE is actually adding a fair amount of material. Hence, SEMS > SEMP.
