The Research Collaboratory for Structural Bioinformatics Protein Data Bank (RCSB-PDB at http //www.rcsb.org/pdb/) is the online source for X-ray and NMR structural data. Many software programs mentioned in Section 3.12 include the facility to visualize imported data however, two free software programs operate well in this regard. GETTING ESSENTIAL INFORMATION FROM ONLINE SOURCES... 

The research arm of the U.S. Department of Justice, the NIJ provides invaluable resources on all aspects of criminology and criminal justice, including the National Criminal Justice Reference Service (NCJRS), an online source of summaries, abstracts, and full text documents on numerous subjects, including gun violence.

Taking all of the above into account, probably the best format for search engines is InChIKey. Its only disadvantage at this time is its lower penetration into the media, but we can expect it to gain popularity very quickly, especially in free online sources. 

Online sources can also offer you information about how to grow food, as well as access to the materials needed. There are numerous websites that offer advice and materials for growing natural and organic foods. 

Before looking at the sample citations given here, you should be familiar with the following information regarding dates, addresses, and reference markers in online sources. 

Use of Multiple Dates Because online sources may change or be revised, a citation may contain more than one date. Your citation may present, for example, the original date of a document if it appeared previously in print form, the date of its electronic publication, or the time of its latest update. Your entry should also include a date of access, indicating the day you found the particular source. 

Use of Reference Markers Unfortunately, many online sources do not use markers such as page or paragraph numbers. If such information is available to you, include it in your citations by all means if it does not exist, readers must fend for themselves when accessing your sources. (Some readers might locate particular information in a document by using the Find tool in their computer program, but this option is not always available or useful.)...

Online Sources. In addition to the information provided in the previous examples (author, title, publication source, page numbers), these citations require the medium (online), the computer network (e.g., Internet), date, and electronic address (the URL). 

Requirements to establish the safety of residues of veterinary drugs in food vary internationally. Table 3.7, later in the chapter, provides some of the national, regional, and internahonal guidelines and online sources for these requirements. 

In the United States, the USDA Foreign Agriculture Service offers a consolidated database of international MRLs for pesticides and veterinary drugs. In addition, a number of countries and regulatory authorities list their official MRLs online. Table 3.7 provides some online sources of information on regulatory requirements for the development of ADIs and MRLs/tolerances, while Table 3.8 provides the URLs for a selection of sites providing MRLs/tolerances established by national regulatory authorities.
