The precautionary approach (PA) is an important element of environmental law that is used to address a potential risk whether or not that risk can be demonstrated or its consequences identified. The static use of a sole, generally accepted definition of the PA is extremely difficult, since this cannot meet the multitude of needs in important legislative tools introduced in many conventions designed to protect biodiversity. The way out will be a more discursive model, a model that allows for adaptation to specific conditions and which enforces solution-oriented procedures. 

Reading books about mystical experience is a standard orientation procedure. Reading the accounts of others experiences is another possibility (Aldous Huxley, Alan Watts, and Gordon Wasson have written powerful accounts). 

With this background several measuring methods are currently being discussed in the automotive and paint industry with the objective to obtain a clear characterization of the scratch resistance of clearcoats. Especially procedures that create a single scratch have recently been developed (micro or nano scratch method) [1-8], These methods are different from more practically oriented procedures that are based on relatively simple methods to fly to test or even come close to reality (e.g. car wash brush method). 

In the present study, this information was obtained primarily from structural studies on S/MMA copolymers derived from styrene-methacrylic anhydride copolymers. A computer oriented procedure was used to analyze the data and this made it unnecessary to employ simplifying assumptions. 

Although these examples illustrate opportunities for using a variety of immobilized reagents for individual transformations, a more imaginative use of these methods is in multistep syntheses. In this respect our group s approach has been to minimize the use of conventional workup procedures, yet be able to prepare complex natural products and related compounds simply and efficiently. In this chapter we refrain from commenting on the use of on-bead synthesis of natural compounds or on the diversity-oriented procedures.

When articles hitherto produced from classic materials (such as wood or metal) are to be made by the injection molding process, it is advisable, to give serious consideration to the special properties of plastics materials, as well as the more salient points of injection molding as a production method. This plastics-oriented procedure requires an understanding of the basic principles of the manufacturing and production processes involved, and also of the plastics material s behaviour. The CSF approach and event oriented accident management approach are not mutually exclusive. They are two complementary methods for dealing with an accident. The fulfilment of CSFs guarantees the safety of the reactor at any stage of an accident, regardless of the ability to identify the initiating event or despite the occurrence of multiple failures. The event oriented procedures, on the other hand, help in the case of positive identification of the initiating event to transfer the plant into a safe condition in such a way as to minimize thermal and mechanical stresses. 

The modular structure of event oriented procedures and symptom oriented procedures has been developed to satisfy the requirement for increased clarity and manageability. Through this form of structuring, it is ensured that every user (shift supervisor, control room operator, on-site technicians, etc.) will receive the information necessary to carry out then-respective tasks. 

A symptom oriented accident procedure is entered independently of the initiating event or of the course the accident that has taken place to reach its current state. Therefore the description of the automatic measures is not included. The symptom oriented procedures are initiated after predefined criteria, which are based on a safety function being challenged, have been fulfilled. The same situation prevails for PLCs. Depending on their chemical structure, semicrystalline states may or may not be obtained.
