The NOT operator excludes single search terms from retrieval. But mind its hidden dangers. If the search term is e.g. methyl cellulose and you exclude terms like ethyl cellulose, alkyl cellulose, etc., relevant documents might be forgone, where both methyl cellulose as well as other cellulose ethers are contained. Therefor you should be extremely careful when using the NOT operator. It is advisable to refine the search statement by further AND combinations. In any case, the amount of data to be excluded should be dealt with prior to other operations in order to check via titles, etc. if those documents should really be excluded by the NOT-operator. [Pg.132]


Find a way to overcome the constraint while still maintaining the areas. This is often possible by using indirect heat transfer between the two areas. The simplest option is via the existing utility system. For example, rather than have a direct match between two streams, one can perhaps generate steam to be fed into the steam mains and the other use steam from the same mains. These tests must encompass the complete interlock system, from the measurement devices through the final control elements. Merely simulating inputs and checking the outputs is not sufficient. Limited Data First, plant data are limited. Unfortunately, those easiest to obtain are not necessarily the most useful. In many cases, the measurements that are absolutely required for accurate model development are unavailable.
