Monosulfate

Derivatives of ubiquiaones are antioxidants for foodstuffs and vitamins (qv) (217,218). Ubichromenol phosphates show antiinflammatory activity (219). Chroman o1 compounds inhibit oxidation of fats and can be used ia treatment of macrocytic anemias (220). Monosulfate salts of 2,3-dimethoxy-5-methyl-6-substitutedhydroquiaone have been reported to be inhibitors of Hpid oxidation ia rats (221). Polymers based on chloranilic and bromanilic acid have been prepared and contain oxygenated quiaones (63), which are derived from 1,2,3,4-benzenetetrol (222). [Pg.388]

The reactions in the regulated-set cements containing Cjj A3CF2 (note mixed notation) as a principal phase resemble those in ordinary Portiand cements. Initial reaction rates are controlled by ettringite formation. Setting occurs with formation of the monosulfate, along with some transitory lower-limed calcium aluminate hydrates that convert to the monosulfate within a few hours. [Pg.288]

PhB(OH)2, PhH or Pyr. A polymeric version of the phenyl boronate has been developed.Phenyl boronates are stable to the conditions of stannyla-tion and have been used for selective sulfation to produce monosulfated monosaccharides. Phenyl boronates were found to be stable to oxidation with pcc ... [Pg.244]

Preparation of the Monosulfate Salt of 1-[L-(-l-y-Amino-a-HydroxybutyrylJKanamycin A One mol of 1-[L-(-)-7-amino-o-hydroxybutyryl] kanamycin A is dissolved in 1 to 3 liters of water. The solution is filtered to remove any undissolved solids. To the chilled and stirred solution is added one mol of sulfuric acid dissolved in 500 ml of water. The mixture is allowed to stir for 30 minutes, following which cold ethanol Is added to the mixture till precipitation occurs. The solids are collected by filtration and are determined to be the desired monosulfate salt. [Pg.59]

The column was then eluted with 0.0025N sulfuric acid in methanol-water mixture (1 1 v/v). A total of 900 ml of fractions containing a substance which showed UV absorption at 290 m/u was collected. After removal of methanol by distillation, the residual liquid was adjusted to pH 6.0 with Dowex 44 (OH type) and freeze-dried to obtain 9.3 g (95% yield) of NK631 monosulfate (copper-free form) in the form of pale yellowish-white amorphous powder. [Pg.1190]

To gain an insight into the likely hydrolytic behavior of sulfated simple sugars and polysaccharides, Brimacombe, Foster, Hancock, Overend, and Stacey carried out a rigorous set of experiments with the cyclic sulfates of cyclohexane cis-and trims-1,2-diol as model compounds. The results were interpreted on the reasonable assumption that, in all cases, the cyclic sulfates initially afford a diol monosulfate. Examples of both S-0 and C-0 bond cleavage were encountered. A qualitative reaction mechanism was proposed for use as a working hypothesis for the hydrolysis of sugar sulfates. [Pg.16]

The experiments above are rather easy to carry out and should always be part of a preformulation program, since hygroscopicity can be so important that it will dictate whether or not a particular salt should be used. Dalmane, for instance, is a monosulfate and is used as such since the disulfate, desirable in many other respects, is so hygroscopic that it will remove water from a hard-shell capsule and make it exceedingly brittle. [Pg.185]

Surface disinfectants Compounds containing phenolics, chlorhexidine, potassium peroxy-monosulfate, hypochlorites such as household bleach, and iodine/iodophores. Other disinfectants like alcohols and quaternary ammonium salts will work but are less effective. [Pg.531]

It is noteworthy that quick and effective formation of diaryl nitrones can be achieved through oxidation of diaryl imines with Oxone (potassium peroxy-monosulfate) in such media as aqueous solution of NaHCC>3 in acetonitrile or acetone. When oxidized under such conditions, dialkyl or monoaryl imines give oxaziridines (17). Oxidation of 3,4-dihydroisoquinoline (9) with Oxone initially leads to the formation of oxaziridine (10) which is easily transformed into the corresponding 3,4-dihydroisoquinoline A-oxide (11) upon treatment with catalytic amounts of p-toluenesulfonic acid (Scheme 2.4) (18). [Pg.131]

Addition of dampproofers based on caprylic, capric or stearic acids, stearates or wax emulsions do not have any effect on the setting characteristics of hydration products of Portland cement. However, the unsaturated fatty acid salts, such as oleates, although not affecting the tricalcium silicate hydration, have a marked effect on the ettringite and monosulfate reaction [12] and this is illustrated in the isothermal calorimetry results in Fig. 4.4. It is possible that a calcium oleoaluminate hydrate complex is formed involving the double bond of the oleic acid. [Pg.234]

The subsequent conversion of the ettringite to monosulfate by reaction with C3A is also accelerated by TEA. [Pg.250]

Larger particle size ensures that the potential expansion due to hydration is extended over a period of time. Chemical and physical properties of the most widely used proprietary product, Denka CSA, are given in Table 6.10 [74]. Other CSAs include mixtures of C4 ASHj2 and 2 CS (monosulfate and gypsum) and mixtures of Type... [Pg.338]
