Methamphetamine crystal

METHAMPHETAMINE (CRYSTAL) An amine derivative of amphetamine, used in the form of its crystalline hydrochloride as a central nervous system stimulant. It is often illicitly produced in secret labs. 

A class of drugs that includes Dextroamphetamine, dexies, and methamphetamine (crystal). Commonly referred to as speed and crystal meth. This drug affects the CNS drugs. 

For instance, heroin, cocaine, crack, amphetamine, crystal meth (methamphetamine), cannabis, PCP, nicotine, alcohol. 

Burning test. The powdered cocaine is placed on aluminum foil and held over a low flame or match. The cocaine will burn clear. A sugar cut will darken and burn a dark brown or black therefore the larger the cut, the darker the burn. Crystallized speed or methamphetamine will pop when burned. Salts do not burn and remain as residue (cuts such as procaine or quinine also burn fairly pure although it is alleged that procaine can be detected by a bubbling of the substance before it burns clear).

Methamphetamine, a Schedule 11 drug, was first synthesized in 1919. It can be synthesized from ephedrine or pseudo-ephedrine. Methamphetamine is available by prescription for weight control, ADHD, and narcolepsy under the brand name Desoxyn . Street names for methamphetamine include chalk, crank, crystal, fire, glass, ice, rocks, shabu, speed, and yaba. Methamphetamine is often found at rave sites, where people exert themselves while dancing and deprive themselves of sleep, food, and drink, which can result in increased body temperature with excessive sweating and possibly a salt imbalance. 

Stimulant drugs commonly abused in the USA include methamphetamine ("crank," "crystal"), methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA, "ecstasy"), and cocaine ("crack") as well as pharmaceuticals such as pseudoephedrine (Sudafed) and ephedrine (as such and in the herbal agent Ma-huang) (see Chapter 32). Caffeine is often added to dietary supplements sold as "metabolic enhancers" or "fat-burners" and is also sometimes combined with pseudoephedrine in underground pills sold as amphetamine substitutes. 

From Myanmar to Thailand either directly (26 per cent in 2005) or indirectly via the Lao PDR (65 per cent) or Cambodia. Although traditionally only yaba (methamphetamine tablets) originated in Myanmar, over the last few years ice (crystal methamphetamine) has been reported as originating in Myanmar. 

Australia. While the overall methamphetamine abuse appears to have stabilized, some data point to an increase in the use of crystal ice as well as an increase in injecting methamphetamine.17...

A full 80% of those surveyed by Colfax reported taking ecstasy 66% took ketamine 43% took crystal methamphetamines and 29% took so-called liquid ecstasy or GHB. 

Methamphetamine is used in pill form, or in powdered form by snorting or injecting. Crystallized methamphetamine—known as "ice," "crystal," or "glass"—is a smokable and more powerful form of the drug. 

RDX is used in most of the better explosives in service today, ranging from composition B, the standard bomb-filler used by the Air Force, to composition C-4, the best of the plastic explosives. The following process is the cheapest and easiest method I ve found for RDX production. It uses only three chemicals—ammonium nitrate, acetic anhydride, and paraformaldehyde. All three arc readily available, but procuring the acetic anhydride can be a bit touchy, however, as it is widely used in the production of the illegal thug methamphetamine, or "crystal," as it s called on the streets. 

Methamphetamine, known on the illicit market as speed, ice, or crystal, is a white crystalline powder, with a bitter taste and odor that dissolves easily in water or alcohol. Similarly to cocaine, it exerts a potent positive reinforcement and it is believed that the dextrorotatory form is responsible for the dopaminergic psychostimulant effect [15]. 

Methamphetamine is available on the streets and has been identified by names such as chalk and speed. Methamphetamine hydrochloride is a clear chunky crystal resembling ice that can be inhaled by smoking. It is referred to as ice, crystals, and glass. 

Ukraine, each of which reported seizures of ephedrine larger than 10 kg. In the Czech Republic, over 400 kitchen laboratories used to manufacture methamphetamine were detected, although the quantities of ephedrine seized were lower than in previous years. A large part of the 65 kg seized in Hungary was made up of ephedrine tablets purportedly manufactured in Turkey by an established pharmaceutical company. No exports or diversion of pharmaceutical preparations originating in Europe were identified during Operation Crystal Flow. 

In its powdered form, ketamine is often mistaken for cocaine or crystal methamphetamine. Reports also indicate that ketamine is sometimes sold as Ecstasy (MDMA) and mixed with other drugs. In all its forms, ketamine is usually sold for 25 to 50 per gram.52...
