In their second short communication (1979) 55b>, Marshall reported that the ( )[10.10] isomer 61b was immune to epoxidation with m-chloroperbenzoic acid (quantitatively recovered after 3 weeks), while the (Z)[10.10] isomer was completely converted to epoxide within 3 min reaction time under the same condition.

The R6 method is not the only method for assessing the integrity of pressure vessels with known defects, but it is widely known and well validated. The Marshall Report compared the R6 methodology with other methods (such as the COD method and the J-design curve method) and concluded that the R6 was the preferred route for the assessment of nuclear pressure vessels.

The indium-mediated allylation carried out with allylstannanes in combination with indium chloride in aqueous medium was reported by Marshall et al.113 Allylindium was proposed as the reaction intermediate.
