Look-alikes

Very many types of eddy current instruments available tend to look remarkably similar in much the same way as automobiles tend to look alike. This may be an inevitable trend since developments are converging on users needs, plus PC platforms are being used more and these too are tending to look more and more alike. Some Psilocybe mushroom eaters, in an effort to avoid LSD and PCP tainted varieties sold on the street, try to pick their own mushrooms. In theory, this should be easy to do. Psilocybe (species containing psilocybin) mushrooms grow naturally around the world and in the United States particularly in the Pacific Northwest and southeastern states. Mushroom hunters often seek out cow pastures, riverbanks, pine forests, and wood chips in search of over 90 known species of Psilocybe mushrooms. The problem, though, is that it is very difficult to tell the difference between Psilocybe and other poisonous mushrooms. Psilocybe and poisonous look-alikes can grow side by side. 

In the textbook, Mendeleyev wrote about groups of elements that looked alike and acted similarly in reactions, such as lithium, sodium, and potassium. As he wrote about the groups, the teacher thought it would be helpful to have some simple way of organizing all the elements to show these similarities. 

Many other definitions for stability are known and they do not always look alike. Each of them characterizes a required property of the solution under study. Though the Lyapunov definition of stability seems to be the most natural, in many cases it cannot be used. No stability definition can fit every real case.
