Local Storage

For off-site transportation, the phosphoms is loaded into railcars for transfer to the sites where it is used directly as a raw material or burned and hydrated to phosphoric acid. During shipping, the phosphoms is allowed to soHdify in the cars. The railcars are commonly double walled with a jacket that can be heated with steam or hot water so that the phosphoms can be remelted on-site for transloading to local storage tanks. For overseas shipping, tanktainers with reinforced superstmcture for safe handling are used. Formerly, full tanker ships were in use. [Pg.352]

The main functions of storage batteries in the 250 Wh-5 MWh range are to provide standby power for emergency lighting, telephone services, hospital equipment, etc., or for local storage in remote relay stations, radio beacons,... [Pg.13]

There are three Tektronix terminals that are emulated, the 4010, 4014 and 4027. The 4010 is a high resolution terminal with cross hair cursors for graphics input, the 4014 adds a hardware line patterns, choice of character sizes and user definable character sets with local storage for commonly used structures. The 4027 is a color raster terminal with 64 colors, 16 character fonts, as well as polygon and vector commands. [Pg.80]

Uranium can exist in five oxidation states +2, +3, +4, +5, and +6 (Lide 1994) however, only the +4 and +6 states are stable enough to be of practical importance. Tetravalent uranium is reasonably stable and forms hydroxides, hydrated fluorides, and phosphates of low solubility. Hexavalent uranium is the most stable state, and the most commonly occurring state is UjOg, although there are a few localized storage locations for anthropogenic uranium hexafluoride (UFg) (EPA 1991). Major compounds of uranium include oxides, fluorides, carbides, nitrates, chlorides, acetates, and others. One of the characteristics of 002" ions is their ability to fluoresce under ultraviolet light. [Pg.256]

Most deliveries of feeding fats are made by insulated tank truck, which allows users without raihoad sidings to be serviced, just-in-time deliveries, reduced numbers of local storage tanks, and rapid delivery while the fat remains hot. The industry and its contract haulers take pride in their equipment, and an inedible tallow tank truck looks little different from other milk or liquid ingredients trucks if kept clean. [Pg.2341]

In practice, it is rarely necessary to maintain hundreds of diverse molecular structures for immediate access. Conformational studies are generally performed on a small congeneric series of molecules which, of course, should be immediately available. CAMSEQ/M provides for the local storage of several hundred structures. If additional structures are required, the NIH-EPA-CIS can be linked to the local terminal via telephone... [Pg.349]

In Europe, work was carried out in Italy (Molinari. 1990) using deltamethrin at 0,25, 0.5 and 1.0 mg kg"1 synergized by PBO (I 10) applied to wheat and com in local storage silos and warehouses. Analysis for residues over 12 months showed very little degradation of the deltamethrin. and residues did not exceed the MRL. [Pg.274]

The specific histidine decarboxylase of mast cells apparently produces histamine for local storage within the mast cell itself. This may be the primary function of the mast celP . [Pg.245]

Localized storage of hydrogen gas, whether on-board vehicles or to supply stationary fuel cells or CHP plant, also presents challenges. There are several... [Pg.281]

One consequence of the introduction of the DOI for document delivery is that it facilitates the accumulation of significant numbers of PDF files onto a local storage device. Whilst there are no formal statistics available, an estimate of perhaps one thousand such documents acquired by a student during a typical 3-4 year study period seem not unreasonable. The present author for example has updated his own taught courses to include around one hundred DOI markers dis-... [Pg.102]

The CORIE observation network consists of multiple estuarine stations and one offshore station, each with a variable number of sensors. Most stations measure water levels, temperature, and salinity several stations measure velocity profiles and a few measure wind. Sampling intervals are in the 1- to 15-min range, with a sample consisting of the average over a short period (e.g., 30 sec) of measurements made at several Hertz. Most stations have telemetry, typically based on spread-spectrum radio. Selected stations have field computers, enabhng local storage and facilitating two-way communication. [Pg.70]

Scenario parameters are given in Table 20.10 of the case study of the establishment of a marketing and delivery system that includes an area, which is 30 km radius and covers 60% of the land for farming, located 200 km from the fertilizer factory. The two-step delivery system (intermediate regional storage and local storages) operates at the medium fertilization rate of 120 kg NPK/ha. [Pg.558]

Sana is an extension of the OpenMRS remote data collection to Android-based smartphones (http //sana.mit.edu/). Data are collected as for the J2ME platforms a health worker interviews a patient and determines the purpose or type of the encounter, downloads the pertinent form, and records the patient s answers—including text, images, and audio and video streams. The health worker does this for a number of patients, and then uploads the information to OpenMRS [17]. Medical experts can review the information and return a diagnosis to the health worker via the Sana application. Similar to JavaRosa, Sana sends data to the central server it does not have local storage, and the patient does not have access to or a copy of the data. [Pg.309]

Environmental, safety and occupational health (ESOH) services -These services provide an effective, sound environmental, safety and oeeupational health management system. Avchem tracks and provides reporting down to the CAS-constituent level to satisfy Federal, state and local storage/consumption reporting requirements. [Pg.2]
