Ligands metal, identification

Solid-phase methods have been utilized by a number of groups to synthesize a library of ligand-metal complexes and to aid in the rapid identification of lead catalysts. In two separate reports, Boussie et at Symyx Technologies... [Pg.469]

Probably all adenylyl cyclases are inhibited competitively by substrate analogs, which bind at the site and to the enzyme configuration with which cation-ATP binds (cf Fig. 4). One of the best competitive inhibitors is (3-L-2, 3 -dideoxy adenosine-5 -triphosphate ( 3-L-2, 3 -dd-5 -ATP Table 4) [4], which allowed the identification of the two metal sites within the catalytic active site (cf Fig. 4) [3]. This ligand has also been labeled with 32P in the (3-phosphate and is a useful ligand for reversible, binding displacement assays of adenylyl cyclases [4]. The two inhibitors, 2, 5 -dd-3 -ATP and 3-L-2, 3 -dd-5 -ATP, are comparably potent... [Pg.35]

While the majority of group 4B metal carbonyl complexes contain 7r-bonded hydrocarbon ligands, most notably 17-cyclopentadienyl, recent studies by Wreford and co-workers have led to the identification and isolation of three novel phosphine-stabilized titanium carbonyl complexes (12,13). [Pg.319]

The palladium-catalyzed asymmetric allylic substitution using seven different phosphano-oxazoline ligands at various ligand-to-metal ratios was also studied.112 An aluminum block containing 27 wells was placed in a dry box in which the reactions were carried out in parallel. Analyses were performed by conventional chiral GC equipped with an autosampler. Such a setup allowed about 33 catalyst evaluations per day. Apparently, only a few dozen were carried out in the study, resulting in the identification of a catalyst showing an ee-value of 74% in the reaction of 4-acyloxy-2-pentene with malonate.112 It is not clear whether further ligand diversification would lead to catalysts more selective than the record set in this case by the Trost-catalyst (92% ee).113... [Pg.538]

UV-visible (UV-vis) spectroscopy detects valence electron transitions. One may detect the electronic state of metal ions from d-d transitions. Identification of unusual ligands—that is, Cu(II)-SR, Fe(III)-OPh, Fe(III)-0-Fe(III)—may be possible. UV-vis spectroscopy on single crystals using polarized light may yield geometric information. [Pg.167]

Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are a class of zinc- and calcium-dependent enzymes that are responsible for the metabolism of extracellular matrix proteins [27]. Increased activity of MMPs has been associated with pathological diseases such as arthritis, cancer, multiple sclerosis and Alzheimer s disease [28-31]. Therefore, they constitute an important group of drug targets. Their inhibition is accomplished by blocking the active site of the catalytic domain with ligands that contain hydroxamic or carboxylic acids to chelate the Zn metal. The identification of low molecular weight compounds that contain different scaffolds may lead to the development of a new class of specific inhibitors. [Pg.430]
