The training of all workers in safety and health has been demonstrated to reduce costs and increase the bottom line. Workers must be trained in safety and health just as you would conduct job skill training in the form of on-the-job training (OJT) or job instruction training (JIT). Most employers and safety professionals realize that a skilled worker is a safe worker. The following are some recommendations that should be addressed to ensure that workers are trained or that training has been upgraded. 

Standard operating procedures (SOPs) are step-by-step job instructions which can help workers perform their jobs safely and efficiently. When the end users are involved in their design, SOPs can provide a basis for arriving at a method of work agreed-to by different shifts. In this sense, SOPs can be used to develop training programs and specify measures of competence. Because of the importance of SOPs in the work situation, a systematic framework is needed to enable the design of reliable procedures which are acceptable by the workforce. 

Findings. Operators were trained and experienced. Job instructions intended to address quality and safety issues were posted near the press. They did not contain any specific instructions related to removal of debris from the press. 

Recently in the lean community, two different methodologies related to standard work have been receiving focus. One is the Training Within Industry (TWI) and the other is manager standard work. TWFs three programs, job relations, job instruction, and job methods, work together to help supervisors... 

In these short succinct meetings, supervisors convey changes in work practices short training modules facts related to an accident or injury specific job instructions, policies, and procedures rules and regulation changes or other forms of information that the supervisor feels are important to every worker under his or her supervision. 

Provide such information, instruction, training and supervision to ensure that employees can carry out their jobs safely. 

Job safety analysis (or job hazard analysis) is an accident prevention technique that should be used in conjunction with the development of job safety instructions safe systems of work and job safety training. 

Such job safety instructions should be utilised in as much job safety training both formal (in the classroom) and informal (on the job contact sessions) as possible. All managers and supervisors concerned should be fully knowledgeable and aware of the job safety instructions and safe systems of work that are relevant to the areas under their control. 

Training is required at all levels of the organization ranging from simple on-the-job instruction to apprenticeship for electrical technicians and supervisory courses for experienced electrical engineers. First aid training related to the need for cardiovascular resuscitation and treatment of electric burns should be available to all people working on electrical equipment and their supervisors. 

Knowledge and skill Its subelements were lack of education, lack of experience, misunderstood directions, poor training, lack of job instructions, poor orientation, lack of awareness, inadequate practice, and lack of hands-on instructions. 

A simple example is when operators avoid hazards altogether or control them. On-the-job training, job instructions, safety procedures aim to promote this type of barriers . 

The investigation report was handed over to the plant and department management, who initiated a number of actions. An immediate action was to review and update the work instructions. Training programmes were established for the supervisors and operators and for new employees. A full job-safety analysis of the machine was carried out. It was followed up by a number of technical measures to eliminate the need to work in the danger zone of rotating equipment. 

Provides job orientation/training instruction content on how to safely perform the steps and tasks. It provides a quick refresher instruction for infrequent and nonroutine jobs. 

JHA photobooks or a JHA video can be developed by using an approved JHA and allowing the employees involved to be a part of the job instructions. Double training takes place when workers go through the JHA step-by-step to demonstrate correct procedures for the camera. 

The training must be comprehensible. If the employees must receive job instructions in a language other than English, then training and information will probably also need to be conducted in a foreign language.
