To further evaluate the role of CRH in both neuroendocrine and behavioral functions, a mammalian model of CRH deficiency has been generated by targeted mutation in embryonic stem cells (Mugha et al. 1995). CRH-deficient mice reveal a fetal glucocorticoid requirement for lung maturation. Postnatally, they display marked glucocorticoid deficiency and an impaired endocrine response to stress (Jacobson et al. 2000 Mugha et al. 1995). 

The molar cyclization equilibrium constants, Kx, of PDMS are measured. Using the Jacobson and Stockmayer equilibrium theory of macrocyclization, the dimensions of PDMS chains with 40-80 chemical bonds in the bulk polymer at 383 K are deduced. Dilution effects in the PDMS systems are contrasted with predictions of the Jacobson-Stockmayer theory, and the experimental molar cyclization equilibrium constants of the smallest siloxane rings are discussed in terms of the statistical properties of the corresponding oligomeric chains using tire RIS model of PDMS of Flory, Crescemi, and Mark [S 116].

In dog toxicity tests over a four-week period with a dose of fat of 9 g kg day" S the following adverse signs were observed marked anemia and leukocytosis, hypertriglyceridemia, vomiting, diarrhea, and blood in urine and faeces (Jacobson and Wretlind 1970). This clinical picture may be explained by extensive and disseminated fat embolism (Obel 1970). These adverse reactions, which are reversible up to a certain grade of severity, would correspond to the late reactions or fat overloading syndrome observed in humans. 

Wind turbines have not heen universally welcomed. Some of their neighbors complain that they comprise visual pollution. The power capacity of wind turbines may be restricted only by the size of a hlade that can be hauled to a site, mounted, and maintained with some degree of structural integrity. A turhine at 250 feet takes advantage of winds that are 20 percent stronger than those at 150 feet, said Dr. Mark Z. Ring chain equilibria in the polymerization of < -valerolactone by lithium butoxide in THF have been found to be in accord with Jacobson-Stockmayer theory. Dabco is the trade name for triethylene diamine (Jacobson and Van den Burg and Co. (U.K.) Ltd, 3-5 Crutched Friars, London, E.C.3). Weigh out 6 0.1 g Dabco and transfer to an over-dried 1 litre volumetric flask. Add dry toluene (less than 15 ppm water) from the dispenser (see Figure 7.12) to make the volume up to approximately 950 cm Dissolve the Dabco by shaking and stand the flask in a water bath thermostatted at 25 + rC. When the solution has reached 25°C make up to the 1 dm mark with dry toluene and mix thoroughly. Stand the solution in a water bath, thermostatted at 25 + rC. A measured volume of this solution then contains a constant weight of Dabco catalyst.

Using these procedures, the postnatal blood levels of pups from dams exposed to lead at time of conception were found to be markedly elevated (45 fig lead/dl blood) between postnatal days 4-8 (Table 2). This corresponds with periods of extensive cell acquisition, particularly in the cerebellum which is completely formed postnatally (Jacobson, 1978). Subsequently the blood lead levels dramatically declined to 20jUg/dl by day 12 and then slowly increased to 40 jUg/dl at time of weaning (day 20).
