Information channel

Some of the components following the detector have been described in Chapter 2. It is comforting to know that there are opportunities for combination which reduce the number of black boxes, and that not all these components are needed before a spectrograph can yield useful results. For example, Figure 9-1 provides for the results to appear either as printed counts or as a chart recording. For many purposes, one information channel suffices.

The information channels available for use include print media such as newspapers, magazines, and brochures electronic media such as television, radio, telephone, and the internet and face-to-face interaction through personal conversations and public meetings.
