Successful operation of the gaseous diffusion process requires a special, fine-pored diffusion barrier, mechanically rehable and chemically resistant to corrosive attack by the process gas. Another type of flow artifact is due to voxel inflow and outflow problems large velocities make a spin leave its designated voxel in the time between signal encoding and signal readout. As the traveled distance d and the velocity v are related by the expression d = vt, it is obvious that the effect is more severe, the smaller the voxel size is. Chemical compatibility studies with hydraulic conductivity tests must be performed over a long enough period of time to determine the full effects of the waste liquid. Termination criteria include equal inflow and outflow of liquid, steady hydraulic conductivity, and influent/effluent equilibrium. With these observations in mind, the simplest practical measure to reduce electrostatic discharge risks associated with vessel loading is to reduce the rate at which the dry solids are added to the vessel.
