Grounds Maintenance

The equipment, site conditions, and weather can make these tasks very dangerous. It is important that the employees responsible for grounds keeping stay alert and watch for the unexpected.

Use Exemptions. Certain uses of listed chemicals are specifically exempted use as a structural component of the facility use in routine janitorial or facility grounds maintenance personal uses by employees or other persons use of products containing toxic chemicals for the purpose of maintaining motor vehicles operated by the facility or use of toxic chemicals contained in intake water (used for processing or noncontactcooling) or in Intake air (used eitheras compressed air or for combustion). 

Set a budget to cover the grounds maintenance needs of the organization. 

Within each arena there were two hay bales containing nest boxes. At the opposite end of the arena there was a water font and nearby a balance weigh-head. The best way to prepare a comprehensive chemical list is to perform a comprehensive assessment of your facility. This means a department-by-department search for every chemical present. It includes cleaning supplies, such as bathroom and window cleaners grounds maintenance chemicals, such as weed killers and fertilizer vendor samples being used on a trial basis fuels paints as well as all chemicals used in your company s daily operations.

Granular materials are shipped raw or calcined and usually have been ground to a specified screen si2e or si2e distribution. The additives depend on the apphcation and service conditions. These materials are used in constmction, repair, or maintenance of furnaces and vessels. Refractory mortars are used to lay brick of the same composition. These are manufactured wet premixed or dry. 

The chief factors determining the size of grinding balls are fineness of the material being ground and maintenance cost for the ball charge. A coarse feed requires a larger baU than a fine feed. 

Smokeless operation can generally be achieved, with essentially no noise or luminosity problems, provided that the design gas rate to the flare is not exceeded. However, since the flame is near ground level, dispersion of stack releases is poor and this may result in severe air pollution or hazard if the combustion products are toxic or in the event of flame-out. Capital and operating cost and maintenance requirements are high. 

Electrical Hazards. If grounding and bonding systems are absent or inadequately maintained, or if electrical tool and equipment maintenance is... 

With a blowdown vessel, these may be installed at ground level, and thus the water in them can be above the boiler blowdown valve. In this case, a drain valve for maintenance purposes must be installed at the lowest point in the line between the boiler and the vessel.
