Lubrication grease

Fette, /. fatness, greasiness, fettecht, a. insoluble in fat. fetten, v.t. oil, grease, lubricate stuff, dub (leather) fatten. 

Apart from this, grease has other advantages. It acts both as a lubricant and as a seal and is thus able, at the same time as it lubricates, to prevent the entry of contaminants such as water and abrasive dirt. Grease lubrication by eliminating the need for elaborate oil seals can simplify plant design.

Brazing fluxes shall be applied to remove oxides and contaminants from base materials to ensure good-quality brazed joints. They remove only surface oxides and tarnish other contaminants (oil, grease, lubricants, and protective coating) must be removed either mechanically or chemically before brazing.

Turbomolecular pumps and frequency converters are nearly maintenance-free. In the case of oil-lubricated pumps it is necessary to replace the bearing lubricant at certain intervals (between 1500 and 2500 hours in operation, depending on the type). This is not required in the case of grease-lubricated pumps (lifetime lubrication). If it should become necessary to clean the pump s turbine unit, then this can easily be done by the customer, observing the procedures described in the operating instructions. 

If specified, rolling element bearings shall be grease lubricated in accordance with 5.11.4.a) through 5.11.4.d) ... 

Wagons fitted with (i) grease lubricated axle boxes (ii) end falling doors and (iii) doors on the floor (hopper type) should not be used for the conveyance of military explosives. 

Why was this different from all the other times The river water pump gland was originally lubricated with grease. About 15 years earlier, in an effort to reduce potential environmental situations, such as an occasional sheen on the river water discharge, the grease lubrication was replaced with environmentally friendly well water. Furthermore, it is believed that when a river water pump was shut down for scheduled maintenance, the motor was shut off and the well water was turned off immediately. Despite the fact that this area handled only water, we must be concerned about the impurities that can be dissolved in the water. [3]...

Perfluorination techniques have been developed for the conversion of many hydrocarbons to their perflnorinated counterparts. Flnorocarbons are chemically inert becanse of their kinetically nmeactive carbon skeletons and have been considered as blood substitntes becanse of their high oxygen solnbUity. The thermal stability and low secondary bond forces of flnorocarbons have contributed to their use as greases, lubricants, and vapor-phase heat transfer reagents. 

Reinforced nylon containing molybdenum disulphide is very commonly used for gears in low-stress situations such as windscreen wipers and car door window winders. It gives good wear and impact resistance and quiet operation, and is particularly useful where oil or grease lubrication is marginal or intermittent.
