It is surprising that even on its golden jubilee polystyrene is known only to the specialists, although it has become one of the most commonly used plastics and has had its place in our daily life for many decades. We come across it in household appliances and toys, in furniture and electrical articles, in vehicles, in building and in mechanical engineering, in refrigeration and in packaging, at the workplace and in leisure activities - and scarcely anybody knows it by name. 

Yellow in any of man s [or woman s] vehicles always indicates intellectual capacity, but its shades vary and it may be complicated by the admixture of other hues. Generally speaking, it has a deeper and duller tint if the intellect is directed chiefly into lower channels, more especially if the objects are selfish. In the astral or mental body of the average man [or woman] it would show itself as yellow ochre, while pure intellect, devoted to the study of philosophy or mathematics, appears frequently to be golden, and this rises gradually to a beautiful clear and luminous lemon or primrose yellow when a powerful intellect is being employed absolutely unselfishly for the benefit of humanity.

If the only way In or out of San Francisco and Sausalito is across the Golden Gate Bridge, which joins the two cities, then the number of vehicles in the two cities will remain constant if the number of vehicles per hour crossing the bridge in one direction equals the number of vehicles crossing in the opposite direction. Sadler as a clever, practical and experimental manipulator in chemistry who had helped him to refurbish the laboratory. He was mechanically inclined and very interested in steam engines, including steam-powered vehicles, despite efforts by Boulton and Watt to hinder his work. In the late 1790s he set up a mineral-water factory near Golden Square, London, using the method published by Joseph Priestley in 1772. Sadler used an image of a balloon as an early version of a corporate logo to sell his soda water, but in contrast to the Drury Lane mineral water factory of the Swiss Johann Jacob Schweppe founded in 1790, ° it was not very successful. He also acted as a chemical advisor to the Royal Navy, but he was not often consulted and he remained in financial difficulties.

Thankfully, industrial engineers and software developers are aware of these real constraints, which are handled by various extensions of the TSP (Ball et rd. 1995 Golden and Assad 1988). For example, route capacities and times are considered by the vehicle routing problem (VRP), while time window constraints are included in the TSP with time windows (TSPTW) and the VRP with time windows (VRPTW). Advances in telecommunications make it now possible to implement models that take into account the dynamic aspects of vehicle routing, while time-dependent vehicle routing problems take into account time-dependent travel times and costs. The stochastic aspects of cost, time, demand... 

After a number of important scientific discoveries related to NR from the 1870s onwards, there was a quantum leap in terms of progress in the industrial applications of NR. The commercial production of automobiles by Karl Benz began in 1888 and later, from 1908 onwards, the mass production of cars by Henry Ford, increased the demand for pneumatic tyres, which were made exclusively from NR. The use of vehicles during World War I, coupled with the peace-time demand for motorized vehicles, was a golden age in terms of demand for NR. Before World War II, rubber products used 100% NR. Even today, around 60% of NR is used in the production of tyres.
