Germany model

The titanium contents of the resulting catalyst samples were determined with an inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometer (ICP-AES) (Kon-tron, Germany Model S-35) after HE acid digestion of the solid. N2 adsorption/ desorption isotherms at 77 K were obtained using a Micromeritics ASAP 2020 apparatus. Catalyst crystalline structure was examined by X-ray diffraction (XRD) on a Shimadzu XRD-6000 diffractometer with Cu Ka radiation. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) data were acquired on a VG Microtech MT-500 spectrometer using A1 Ka X-ray radiation (1,486.6 eV). Fourier transform infrared (FUR) data were obtained on a Shimadzu IR Prestige FUR spectrophotometer. [Pg.375]

FIG. 1. Large-size furnace for solid sampling, manufactured by Grim Analytische Mess-Systeme G.m.b.H., Ehringshausen, Germany, model SM 20. The test substance is introduced either manually with a pincn- and the L vov platform, or by an automated sample introduction system. Dimensions of the furnace OD S3 mm and ID 10.5 mm. [Pg.197]

The KDF filter was first tested in prototype on a coal mine in northern Germany. It was installed in parallel with existing vacuum filters and it produced filter cakes consistendy lower in moisture content by 5 to 7% than the vacuum filters. Two production models have been installed and operated on a coal mine in Belgium. The filter is controlled by a specially developed computer system this consists of two computers, one monitoring the function of the filter and all of the detection devices installed, and the other controlling the filtration process. The system allows optimization of the performance, automatic start-up or shut-down, and can be integrated into the control system of the whole coal washing plant. [Pg.406]

Photo 5 (left) Linus Pauling with Arnold Sommerfeld (on left). Sommerfeld, well-known professor of theoretical physics in the University of Munich, Germany, was an expert on an early form of quantum mechanics, the Bohr-Sommerfeld atomic model. The picture was taken on the occasion of Sommerfeld s visit to Caltech in 1928. Pauling studied quantum mechanics with Sommerfeld in 1926—1927, which is where Pauling got his start in the application of quantum mechanics to chemical bonding (Chapter 1) and to the calculation of molecular properties (Chapter 8). [Pg.448]

Zotepine has been used in Japan and Germany for many years, but has only recently been marketed in the UK. Zotepine is referred to in two pharmacoeconomic publications (Byrom et al, 1998a, b), but no relevant data are provided. Two evaluations are apparently awaiting publication (Knoll, personal communication, 2001) one a 6-month comparison of zotepine and one a health-care model of outcomes associated with the use of zotepine and haloperidol. [Pg.34]

Spannheimer A, Clouth J, Gregor KJ (1999). Pharmacoeconomic evaluation of the rrearmenr of schizophrenia in Germany a comparison of olanzapine, risperidone and haloperidol using a clinical decision model. Poster presented at the ISPOR Second Annual European Meeting, Edinburgh, November 1999. [Pg.42]

The development of start-up companies in the field of micro-systems technology, including microfluidics, has been reviewed by Wicht et al. [244]. Different types of business models are presented as well as the corresponding growth models. The development of start-ups in Germany in the last 10 years is presented and the product offer is discussed. This is compared with the situation in other European countries. Finally, information on problems and opportimities for the start-ups is provided. [Pg.95]

The LCA methodology has been used by Krahsch and Kreisel to investigate the pros and cons of micro-reaction technology at the stage of process development. The motivation for this study was the question whether ecological improvements can be expected for the chosen model reaction performed in the micro-structured device Cytos produced by CPC Systems GmbH, Germany. Such improvements were the premise for the construction of a continuously operated pilot plant based on Cytos micro-reactors. [Pg.256]

Dr Georg Geisler is a product safety expert and modeller working with RCC Ltd, a Contract Research Organisation based in Basel, Switzerland. In this function, he conducts environmental risk assessments of pesticides, biocides and other chemicals, as well as safety assessments for pesticide residues in the food chain. In 2003, Georg Geisler earned his Ph.D. on environmental life-cycle assessment of pesticides at ETH Zurich. In 1999, he had received a Diploma in environmental chemistry at the Friedrich-Schiller University, Jena, Germany. [Pg.335]

Esterification over Amberlyst BD20 was evaluated by processing a model mixture in a fixed-bed reactor. The model reaction mixture was prepared by dissolving 10 wt.% of pure stearic acid (> 97%, Fluka, Germany) in a low-acid vegetable oil (0.04 %) bought in the supermarket. Methanol (> 99.5%) was used without any preliminary treatment. [Pg.282]
