Generative Method

Alkynic ketones have been used extensively in natural product synthesis, due in large part to the contributions of Midland and coworkers and the development of gener methods for enantioselective reduction of this moiety to afford optically active propargyl alcohols using chiral trialkylboranes. Futthermore, the derived alkynic alcohol is a versatile system which can be manipulated directly into cis-or tranr-allylic alcohols and as a precursor for vinyloiganometallic species. This section will briefly cover progress made in the direct acylation of alkynic oiganolithiums with the acylation protocol developed by Weinreb (see also Section 1.13.2.7). [Pg.405]

Rapid product development (RPD) shortens the feedback control cycles concerned with product data generation and the associated management processes. RPD exploits the potential of modem information and communication tools in order to support the necessary dynamic cooperation structures. Development times are systematically shortened by means of a holistic integration of man, organization, and technology. The learning processes can be systematically relocated to early product development phases. As a result of generative methods of production and virtual reality, physical and virtual prototypes can be made quickly available. [Pg.2501]

Computer-aided automation of process design requires a whole new approach to part manufacture and assembly planning. This centres on the decision logics, formulae, algorithms and data extractions. This approach is labelled as the Generative Method [4]. Examples of such procedures are Decision Trees, Decision Tables, Axiomatic and Expert systems. Regardless of their approach they remain complex in nature and this led to the specific applications, such as those in sheet metal fabrications and electronics manufacture, where parameters are more... [Pg.26]

Two examples for prototype tooling by direct application of generative methods are the AIM-application, Figure 4.141, which can be directly inserted into a mold frame and used on the injection molding machine and the sintered negative of a boot profile (Figure 4.142). [Pg.624]

From the above, it is clear that non-generative methods in regards to accuracy, material properties, reproducibility, and speed, depending on the geometry, may have advantages over generative processes. This is particularly true when the geometries... [Pg.629]

Generative methods are used to an advantage when the components are very complex and are needed very fast and only in small numbers. [Pg.630]
