Automotive air conditioners are a major source of refrigerant emissions, which contribute to the depletion of the Earth s protective ozone layer. This case study generates replacement refrigerants for automotive air conditioners. 

Nuclear energy is not reliable because of major, unplanned repairs (e.g., steam generator replacement). 

Before all the boron trifluoride has been generated, replace the test tube of ether with a test tube containing a few milliliters of water. Note the reaction between boron trifluoride and water. Fires (or other external events) have not been included in the scope of the study although the IPE PSA Level 1 showed an important contribution of fire to the CDF. The screening of the effects of the external events on the Kreko PSA will be performed in the near future. In fact, a whole set of new lattices can be generated replacing all three translation symmetry operations by helix symmetry operations [5]. Since a 1 1/1 hehx has a translational symmetry, this new space lattice description with helices would contain the traditional crystallography as a special case. 

Once the loan is paid off, after the 30-year period, for the remainder of the plant lifetime there will be no payments to the bank. During those latter years of operation, the only costs that the plant operator will incur will be normal operating costs, including the cost of fuel. Many of the 104 operating nuclear power plants in the United States now are in this situation, being free of the burden of the amortization costs. However, major maintenance and repair costs, such as steam generator replacements, may also be amortized, adding capital costs later in the plant life. 

Obviously, the capital cost is the major contributor. Once the plant is amortized, only the operating costs would apply, reducing the effective costs by 60%. Because most of that plants have been fully paid for (costs have been amortized off), the majority of the plants had net cost per kWh in the operating cost range of 2.0 cents/kWh. Plants undergoing major refurbishment, such as steam generator replacement, would need to add in the amortization of these replacement capital costs. 

The decontamination effectiveness of these non-chemical procedures varies greatly depending on the specific technique and installations applied. Usually they are applied for the decontamination of limited and well-defined areas, such as the end regions of the main coolant pipes in steam generator replacement actions.
