Other forms are middle-truncation for none or one character as well as left truncation. The latter is offered only by a few hosts, since it is a CPU-time-intensive process. In German, however, front or left truncation is undispensible due to their combined nouns. STN offers front truncation in some databases, as in the World Patents Index. 

Some notes for using truncation Take care that the unchanged part of the word is not too short to avoid retrieving too many irrelevant documents. Although it is often wise to check a dictionary to truncate correctly, front truncation is especially delicate and a dictionary does not help at all.

What defines a spherulite is its shape and structural symmetry. All radii of an ideal spherulite are equivalent, at least at lengths greater than the 0.1-pm resolution of optical microscopy.
