Frequency Patterns

This fnnction simply restricts the calculation to those distances that actually occur in the molecnle. The condition (r = r p is calculated with a certain fuzziness or tolerance limit that is either determined by the resolution of the function or defined by the nser. Three types can be distingnished (1) distance patterns (2) frequency patterns and (3) binary patterns. [Pg.129]

The noise due to the reciprocating action of the dual-headed pump in the 150C ALC/GPC has a constant frequency pattern and can be reduced by hydraulic filters as shown in Figure 3. A 60% reduction in the peak-to-peak noise is achieved by using a Mark II dampener (Laboratory Data Control, River Beach, Florida), while the M-45 filters under same conditions have reduced the noise by 90%. [Pg.286]

Idiopathic intracranial hypertension There have been reports of idiopathic intracranial hypertension. A cardinal sign of idiopathic intracranial hypertension is papilledema early symptoms may include headache (associated with a change in frequency, pattern, severity, or persistence of particular importance are those headaches that are unremitting in nature) and visual disturbances. [Pg.224]

The action of several anesthetics has also been associated with a modulation of K+ channels. In addition to blocking Na+ currents in spinal neurones of the superficial dorsal horn the local anesthetics bupivacaine, lidocaine and mepivacaine reduce transient, A-type K+ currents in these cells whereas delayed rectifier K+ currents proved to be resistant (Olschewski et al., 1998). Since the A-type K+ current determines the frequency pattern of repetitively firing neurones (Hille, 2001) their suppression in dorsal... [Pg.341]

The time modulation of transmitter signals, through pulsations of different durations and shapes may lead to frequency and amplitude coding of signalling events, the detection requiring molecular receivers suitably tuned to frequency patterns and thresholds. Such processes occur in intercellular communication by cell to cell signalling [8.243]. [Pg.127]

An interesting modification of this technique is the fibre-optic dynamic anemometer (FODA)143. A length of fibre-optic cable carries the laser beam to the interior of the dispersion. Back-scattered light, with its Doppler frequency shift, is returned to the detector along with reflected light and, again, the resulting beat frequency pattern is analysed. Since only a very small volume around... [Pg.62]

It should be noted that the changes between the structures of complexes 1, 2, and 3, are (deliberately) rather drastic, as evidenced by the large entropy changes listed in Table I. Sec. II-C,4 shows that small changes in frequency patterns or in the entropy of the activated complexes have minor effects on the magnitude of kt. [Pg.18]

Dependence of ke on H-Rupture Complex. The values of kt given by the H-rupture complex are also shown in Figures 1 and 2 for 0 = 35 and 85 kcal. mole-1. The entropies of the C—C-rupture complex 2 and of the H-rupture complex are nearly identical, 11.9 and 11.7 e.u., respectively, at 300°C. Consequently, it is of interest to compare the effects of these two different frequency patterns, which correspond to the same entropy, on the rate constant. This is done in Table IY. [Pg.22]

The above behavior is a severe test of an earlier conclusion18 201 the rate behavior for different complexes, whose frequency patterns differed somewhat, but which have the same entropy of activation, is similar. [Pg.22]

The variation of the activated complex sum ratio with energy shown in the first line of Table X is relatively small the slightly irregular behavior that has a formal explanation in terms of the actual frequency patterns is of no concern here. [Pg.35]

Forst treated the decomposition of azomethane with the quantum harmonic version of the Marcus-Rice theory of unimolecular reactions. He used different models which comprised three dimensional free rotations of the two methyls and of the central nitrogen molecule and adjusted the overall moments of inertia to give the correct total entropy. For planar or tetrahedral methyls calculations gave an increase of six in the number of active rotations in going from the molecule to the complex. With a minimum of assumption it was also possible to reproduce the pressure fall-off curve of the experimental first order rate coefficient for planar and tetrahedral complexes. A further result of the computations is the conclusion that the vibrational frequency pattern of the complex is so much less important than the number of active rotations that both tetrahedral and planar complexes lead to identical fall-off behaviour. [Pg.572]

The observed noise spectrum of a fluorescence signal excited by a laser with flie beat frequency pattern of Eq. 52 is then the product of (52) and (50), or... [Pg.89]

In electron diffraction experiments, the intensity is the Eourier transform of dnr j gif) and is related to the electron distribution in the molecule [3]. The Eourier transform of a 3D MoRSE code leads to a frequency pattern, but lacks a most important feature of RDF descriptors the frequency distribution. In contrast to the corresponding RDF descriptors 3D MoRSE codes can be hardly interpreted directly. Nevertheless, 3D MoRSE codes lead to similar results when they are used with methods where direct interpretability is not required. [Pg.120]

Although binary pattern descriptors exclusively contain information about the presence or absence of distances, frequency pattern descriptors additionally contain the frequency of distances. Frequency pattern descriptors are valuable for direct comparison of structural similarities. For instance, a substructure can be assumed to exist if the frequencies in a substructure pattern occur in the query descriptor. Bond patterns can be used in a similar pattern search approach to determine structural similarities. In this case bond-path RDF descriptors are used. [Pg.131]

It provides a kind of bond-frequency pattern. It is also independent of conformational flexibility. In this case, the smoothing parameter B has the unit 1 (one). [Pg.134]

RDF descriptors may be used in any combination to fit the required task. For instance, it is possible to calculate a multidimensional descriptor based on bond-path distances and restricted to nonhydrogen atoms in the shape of a frequency pattern. Consequently, more than 1,400 different descriptors are available. A final summary of RDF descriptor types, their properties, and applications is given in Table 5.1. This section summarizes typical applications, some of which are described in detail in the next chapter. [Pg.157]

RDF Binary Pattern is a simplified form of RDF frequency patterns that results in a binary vector defining the absence or presence of distances in a molecule. [Pg.164]

RDF Frequency Pattern is a simplified form of an RDF distance pattern calculating the absolute frequencies of distances instead of the relative frequency. [Pg.164]

The slow acetylator phenotype for isoniazid is associated with a reduction in the amount of NAT 2, and occurs with a frequency of 50 to 60% in Caucasians however, the frequency patterns can vary dramatically in different populations. NATl was originally thought to exhibit monomorphic metabolism, but has more recently been shown to exhibit polymorphisms in humans, too. Wild type alleles are NAT 1 4 and NAT2 4, respectively. As with the CYPs, it is not surprising that large numbers of SNPs have been discovered, and the up-to-date list of NAT alleles is maintained at http //www.louisville.edu/medschool/ pharmacology/NAT.html. [Pg.162]

It is evident from the literature that there is variance in the IC50 values in cloned hERG channels expressed in native mammalian myocytes and in clonaUy derived mammalian cell lines (Kirsch et al. 2004). Clearly, both temperature and pulse (duration and frequency) patterns can influence the inhibitory... [Pg.94]

The most common frequency modulated continuous wave-form employs a linear frequency pattern (Richards, 2005), where B is the swept bandwidth, f o is the starting frequency, T is the sweep duration and //the linear frequency modulation coefficient. [Pg.1139]
