The men who worked together almost night and day to devise efficient gas masks or means of submarine detection or methods of sound ranging were not workmen under the orders of a superior, but free associations of scientists with training in common or related fields of research and under the inspiration of a common patriotism. Precisely this is what is needed to achieve the victories of peace. Effective cooperation cannot be imposed from above by administrative authority but can only come by free democratic action of investigators themselves. (9). 

The question to what extent the objectively accurate statement TVC-free associates general enviromnental friendliness in the case of a product and is thus misleading is dealt with by a court judgment (Federal Supreme Court I ZR 76/94), which mled that this statement was permissible.

The enumeration, by what seems to be a process of free association, of whirlwinds, clowns, personalities, lights, mountains, birds, and stars, is an expression of his ecstatic inventiveness. Whether he says what he sees or sees what he says, his activized consciousness is a whirlwind of imaginings and colored lights. Why always thirteen Because twelve is many, but an even number, whereas thirteen is too many, an exaggeration, and signifies a multitude. Whaf s more, he probably likes the sound of the word thirteen. 

More fluent free association increased ability to play spontaneously with hypotheses, metaphors, paradoxes, transformations, relationships, etc.

A spectral band is characterised by its frequency range, its intensity, and its shape and breadth. The frequency change in the XH stretching tend (Av) is often used as an approximate measure of the strength of the H-bond. Enthalpies of H-bond formation are usually determined from the temperature variation of the free-associated intensity ratio of the same bands. Of even greater interest are, however, the geometries and the potential surfaces of H-bonded species and the distribution of the electronic charge therein. For this the spectra of the isolated H-bond complexes that is, gas phase spectra are needed. The fine structure of the bands has to be examined. Key questions are how do the new vibrational motions introduced by the formation of a H-bond interact with the internal motions of the components X and Y How could this be inferred from the observed breadth and fine structure of the bands ... 

The 1 1 complex of water and hydrogen fluoride was also studied by Thomas 79), from 4000 to 400 cm-1. This is an experimentally difficult task in view of the low volatility of the H2O.HF complex. The analysis of the spectrum shows that the complex is coplanar, C2v. This splits the degeneracy of vb and vp the two bridge deformation vibrations which are degenerate in the linear or C3v complexes. Vj has some structure consisting of a sharp band at 3608 cm-1, a broader band split into two at 3623 and 3626 and a broad band at 3644 cm-1 followed by continuous absorption (Fig. 10). The free-associated separation is 354 cm-1 for H2O.HF while it is 420cm-1 for dimethylether. HF. (Arnold and Millen20. ) As in the previous cases the fine structure can be interpreted as a series of hot bands, (vt + n vp — n"vp). 

If people have relatively strong egos and feel reasonably secure in themselves, they may be able to tolerate or even benefit from one or another therapeutic technique, whether it is role-playing, dream analysis, free association, cognitive therapy, behavioral therapy, self-hypnosis, relaxation techniques, biofeedback or whatever. But disturbed people will experience anything that is rote, contrived, or repetitive as one more humiliating insult, and even as an assault.

Use real photos, preferably in color color brings more emotions to mind. Don t use clip art or cartoons. These are already characterizations and, thus, may limit free association creativity. 

Similar results were obtained with the chloroform-ether-amide system. As chloroform was foimd to be a somewhat less efficient hydrogen bond breaker than halothane, one would expect a free/associated ratio somewhat less favorable to the free species than in the case of the halothane-ether mixture. This is actually what has been observed. The system is another case of predictable antagonism. The dioxane-halothane-amide system also yielded similar results. 

Next we examined the case of the chloroform-halothane-N-ethylacetamide mixture. The effect of chloroform and halothane on the free/associated ratio for the... 

In order to couple a proton acceptor less efficient than ether to halothane we measured the spectra of the methylsulfide-halothane-N-ethylacetamide system. It was actually found that the thioether hinders the hydrogen bond breaking action of halothane less than the ether the free/associated ratio is in favor of the free species more than with ether. Ethylsulfide was also tried. In general while thioethers are antagonists of halothane or chloroform they are less so than ethers. 

I shall therefore discuss and assess the major aspects of the title compounds. The order in which I do so is arbitrary but there is method in my madness if free association may be deemed method. 

In January 1986, a Compact of Free Association between the governments of the USA and the Marshall Islands was signed into law. This provided for the payment of compensation to the people of Bikini, Rongelap, Enewetak and Utirik Atolls. An additional trust fund was established for the cleanup and resettlement of Bikini Atoll.
