This specialized form of supply air system is often used in large open industrial spaces. It comprises a modular system of components that can be built up into simple systems. A typical system might have a roof inlet cowl, a recirculation damper, a heater battery, a fan, one or two outlet grilles and short sections of connecting ductwork, and would handle airflows up to 3-4m /s, depending on size. A number of individual systems would be used to provide the total airflow required in the space (Figure 28.4). Systems are normally manufactured with aluminum casings to reduce the roof load.

In addition to the supply of medication on the NHS via individual prescription forms (see Chapters 2 and 3) or hospital order (see Chapter 4), and the supply of medication via non-NHS (private) prescription forms (see Section 5.1), it is also necessary to become familiar with other forms of supply. These are where a practitioner or other authorised individual requires a medicinal product for use during the course of their practice or business. In order to meet the real-time transfer of the signal, stringent service quality parameters are defined over the data transfers down the supply chain. This chapter provides techniques to meet these requirements with minimal resources. Intime flow of the commodities to the end user is the basic requirement in a supply chain. The tools and techniques used to meet this goal are different in different supply chains. The example of realtime transfer of information for the end user is eonsidered throughout this ehapter. Hose Mask This is one form of supplied-air respirator. An air line provides breathable air to a user mask from a suitable source A hose mask with a blower makes breathing easier during inhalation, because the blower aids the air flow from the clean air line. The length of piping and/or hose determines the distance a user can move from the supply. 

This is a specific form of supply chain relating to the transfer of information between organisations in the interests of product design and development. It focuses on management by those participants, both internal and external to a focal firm, who contribute the capabilities necessary for product development. The chain involves all contributors from product conceptualisation through to prototype manufacture and beyond.

QAS seems an important form of supply chain co-ordination, though it can have different aims, different co-coordinators and different benefits to producers. 

How "fortunate", then, that all the big companies work this way. A great opportunity for intelligent entrepreneurs to recognize this error and immediately correct it and to set up the function of the small businessman dedicated to overall optimization in the form of supply chain management. 

One major customer for healthcare services, DaimlerChrysler, has directly intervened with its healthcare providers. This is in the form of supply chain consultants using the tools of manufacturing productivity to improve service and lower cost. 

Many forecasts, or projections, of future lead prices are based around some form of supply/demand analysis. Conventionally, the starting point is the construction of a metal balance, linking forecasts of raw material availability, refined production, refined consumption, and including trade flows in concentrates and metal between Western countries and the Eastern Bloc (see Chapter 2 for historical lead industry balances). This ensures a measure of consistency between tbe various elements. The intended end result is a forecast of potential metal surpluses or deficits, and thus expected future changes in industry metal stocks. This, in turn can be used as a basis for forecasting future price trends through an iterative process which attempts to maintain the consistency of price, production and consumption projections.
