Flowrate tests

Range 1 of the mud pump performance characteristic is defined by the performance of the smallest liner, and range 2 is defined by the remaining liners. The pressure loss in a circulating system, except for bit (p ), can be estimated from numerous theoretical formulas or from a flowrate test. Data obtained from a flowrate test can be approximated using a curve-fitting technique by the following function ... [Pg.1097]

Upon completing a drilling run at the depth of 8,555 ft, the flowrate test was performed and the following measurements were obtained ... [Pg.1098]

Nozzle size at flowrate test is 3 x -H. The minimum required flowrate is 350 gal/min. [Pg.1099]

Wastewater flowrates tested varied from 12.1 L/h to 18 L/h and oxigen excess (O.E.) between 10 and 70%. Temperature and pressure were measured in different parts of the system and their values were stored in a PC computer for their later study. [Pg.123]

Routine production tests are performed, approximately once per month on each producing well, by diverting the production through the test separator on surface to measure the liquid flowrate, water cut, and gas production rate. The wellhead pressure (also called the flowing tubing head pressure, FTHP) is recorded at the time of the production test, and a plot of production rate against FTHP is made. The FTHP is also recorded continuously and used to estimate the well s production rate on a daily basis by reference to the FTHP vs production rate plot for the well. [Pg.221]

In the dynamic simulation run, the pressures and flowrates at the input and output of each module are known. It is, therefore, possible to perform non-linear correction of the control mode, such that the changes in regenerator pressure in the event of load shedding are minimized. In a test performed with a correspondingly corrected controller structure, the pressure drop after load shedding was reduced from 46 mbar to 19 mbar. The subsequent pressure rise of 27 mbar is just below the specified threshold. [Pg.389]

Filtration experiments are typically conducted in pilot scale equipment and generally tests are conducted either at constant pressure or constant rate to determine axo, as well as s and Rf, for a given sludge and filter medium. Such tests provide empirical information that will enable the time required tor the pressure drop to reach the desired level for a specified set of operating conditions to be determined. In the initial stages of filtration, the filter medium has no cake. Furthermore, Ap is not zero, but has a value that is a function of the resistance of the medium for a given flowrate. This initial condition can be stated as ... [Pg.169]

The PHI-TEC or VSP bench scale apparatus can be employed to determine information about the self-heat rate and vapor disengagement when this is not readily available. Additionally, the VSP equipment can be used for flashing flow characteristics using a special bottom vented test cell. Here, the flowrate, Gq (kg/sm ), is measured... [Pg.967]

In principle, filter bed permeabilities can be calculated using the Carman-Kozeny equation 2.53. For slurries containing irregular particles, however, cake filtrabilities together with filter medium resistance are determined using the Leaf Test (Figure 4.13). In this technique, a sample of suspended slurry is drawn through a sample test filter leaf at a fixed pressure drop and the transient volumetric flowrate of clear filtrate collected determined. [Pg.97]

Example 10.2 An organic product with a flowrate of lOOOkg-h-1 contains a water-soluble impurity with a concentration of 6% wt. A laboratory test indicates that if the product is extracted with an equal mass of water, then 90% of the impurity is extracted. Assume that water and the organic product are immiscible. [Pg.186]

Each pi statistic is tested against the threshold value of 1.96, which corresponds to a 95% confidence level. The last principal component results in suspect. The contributions from each residual of the constraints to the principal components are given in Fig. 18. From this figure we see that the residuals of units 1 and 2 are the main contributions to all the principal components and in particular to p4. The flowrates involved in units 1 and 2 are fa, fa, fa, fa, fa- Because fa and ft, are related to unit 3, which is not suspect, and fa participates in the unsuspected unit 4, we can conclude that the only bias measurements are fa, fa, as was simulated. [Pg.242]

Ruth et alS4-7) have made measurements on the flow in a filter cake and have concluded that the resistance is somewhat greater than that indicated by equation 7.1. It was assumed that part of the pore space is rendered ineffective for the flow of filtrate because of the adsorption of ions on the surface of the particles. This is not borne out by Grace18 or by Hoffing and Lockhart(9) who determined the relation between flowrate and pressure difference, both by means of permeability tests on a fixed bed and by filtration tests using suspensions of quartz and diatomaceous earth. [Pg.377]

Haruni and Storrow(4) have carried out an extensive investigation into the flow of liquid through a cake formed in a centrifuge and have concluded that, although the results of tests on a filtration plant and a centrifuge are often difficult to compare because of the effects of the compressibility of the cake, it is frequently possible to predict the flowrate... [Pg.487]

The last set of tests conducted in this work had to do with the implementation of feed disturbances. The regulatory control tests consisted of a change in the feed composition with the same nominal feed flowrate. Under such scenario, it is clear that the feed composition of all components must change, but the... [Pg.66]

During the shop test of pumps with pressure-lubricated bearings, the oil flowrate to each bearing housing shall be measured and recorded. [Pg.91]

Certified test curves and data (see example in Annex M) shall be submitted within 15 days after testing and shall include head, power recalculated to the proper specific gravity, and efficiency, plotted against flowrate. If applicable, viscosity corrections shall be indicated. The water NPSHR curve shall be included, drawn from actual test data, for an impeller cast from the same pattern. The curve sheet shall include the maximum and minimum diameters of the impeller design supplied, the identification number of the impeller or impellers, and the pump serial number. [Pg.103]

L/min. The flowrate of the pump was checked every 10 minutes. After four hours and thirty-five minutes, the test was stopped. [Pg.128]

The design flowrate of the pilot-scale test system is 10 gph or 900 L/day, which is adequate for small quantity generators, or a slip stream from a higher capacity operation could be used. Once onsite testing is completed, the system may be transported to an operating facility for demonstration testing. The test system will be constructed in four modules to simplify transportation. When the modules are prepared for shipment, only Interconnected piping will need to be separated and capped. [Pg.318]

The required flowrate through each set of cooling coils can be calculated if the heat duty is known. The assumption that the top set of coils occupies the top half of the column, and the bottom coils in the bottom half of the column, can only be tested after further detailed design work on the absorber (see Chapter 9 and Appendix... [Pg.276]

There are two controllers. The proportional reactor level control has a gain of 5. The reactor temperature controller is tuned by running a relay-feedback test. The manipulated variable is the cooling water flowrate in the condenser. With a 50-K temperature transmitter span and the cooling water control valve half open at design conditions, the resulting tuning constants are Kc = 4.23 and = 25 min. [Pg.150]
