Swedish researchers selected strains for egg production, using a diet mixed with home-grown cereals or diets with a low protein level (130g/ kg). The hens were a Rhode Island Red x White Leghorn, which resulted in the development of the SLU-1329 hen (Abrahamsson and Tauson, 1998 Table 6.1). This Swedish hen was tested in aviary and free-range conditions and compared with conventional hybrids (Lohmann LSL, Hisex white and Hisex brown) using a low-protein diet and housed in a floor system. The Swedish hen had the same or higher egg production in comparison with the hybrids, but had better overall feed conversion efficiency (Sorensen, 2001). [Pg.255]

In this book I have confined discussion to those polymeric materials which are cured by chemical reaction and which have found widespread application in the construction industry. As such, the book covers materials based on epoxies, polyurethanes, silicones, polysulphides, alkyds and polyesters. In addition, there is a chapter on hybrid polymer systems and one on acrylics. It is true that acrylic emulsions are not strictly thermosetting polymer systems, but their widespread use and importance made their exclusion difficult. In addition to the FCHV, Toyota is working on the FCHV-5, which will utilize a reformer to produce hydrogen (Toyota 2006). The input for the reformer will be Toyota s Clean Hydrocarbon Fuel (CHF), which Toyota is marketing as a next-generation liquid fuel. CHF is produced from crude oil, natural gas, or coal, and has a low-sulfur content. According to Toyota, the added benefit of this approach is that the CHF is a flexible fuel - it can also fuel gasoUne-powered cars and be pumped from existing pumps. Toyota also has worked with Hino Motors, Ltd., to develop the FCHV-BUSl, a low-floor city bus powered by a hybrid fuel cell battery system similar to the FCHV. [Pg.128]

The chassis structure of the hybrid low-floor COBRA tram consists of a frame and a floor module, made of welded aluminum (hollow extrusions [3]) (Fig. 32.9). The composite sandwich roof panel is glued with elastic adhesives to the aluminum roof cant rail. All heavy aggregates are positioned on top of the composite roof panel. Due to the foam core, the loads had to be introduced by additional profiles (connected to the roof cant rail) to smoothen any local peaks. The GRP sidewall panels are joined to the aluminum pillars and the major longitudinal extrusions by long running layers of the elastic adhesive Sikaflex -254 Booster. The structural analysis of this tram vehicle proved the structural integrity of the new design for the load history specified. The stiffness of the structure has been sufficient to fulfill all the deformation criteria (Fig. 32.10). Based on these results, the preproduction series of the first six COBRA trams was produced and is in normal service operation an additional 68 trams will have followed by 2010. [Pg.531]

With the jubilee 5 years of hydrogen project at the airport of Munich MAN commercial vehicle group presented a newly developed low floor line bus with hybrid fuel cell powertrain. As the notochord is crucial for the development of the surrounding tissues but can be replaced by the floor plate of the neural tube (Fig. IB and IE), once this structure is established, the effect of notochord ablations varies depending on the type and timing of the operation.
