Floored notes

Floor heating in industrial premises usually means hot-water pipes placed inside the concrete floor. (Electric coils or electric sheets are also used in non-industrial premises this is, however, not treated here.) Figure 8.60 shows a typical installation of heatpipes inside the floor. Note that the pipes are placed relatively deep down inside the concrete to help even out the surface temperature. 

Figure 2 is a detail of the sloped wood cap used in Figure 1. Note that the joints are taped (at the top of the cant) and caulked (between the lead flooring and wood cant) to keep manufacturing components and product out of joints. The tape material is 3 inch wide, 2 ply, 100 percent cotton, grade B fabric with a warp and fill of approximately 78 x 78 x 72 pounds breaking strength. It should be adhesive-applied using a water insoluble nitrile rubber/ resin solution. These are commonly referred to as "Airplane Fabric" and "Pliobond 20" adhesive. The Fiberfrax Paper is used below lead flooring as an insulation barrier with a low thermal conductivity to resist heat required for installation of lead conductive floor. Note also that nonsparking nails are required. These are usually aluminum or brass.

A floored note is similar to a capped note, except that the investor is promised a minimum interest rate. Continuing the previous example, XYZ might offer its investors a 3-year floored note paying 6-month EURIBOR plus 38 bp, with a guaranteed minimum rate of 2.38%. This promises the investor that the return can never fall below the initial prevailing rate. 

A range floater is a combination of a capped and floored note. The investor receives a floating rate, subject to both a maximum and a minimum rate. Effectively, the investor has sold a cap and bought a floor. The net premium paid or received will either detract or enhance the return from the note in-between the two strike rates. 

Record potential pollutant sources in the building. Note the locations of major sources. Major sources such as large items of equipment can be recorded on the floor plan. Record the names and locations of chemicals or hazardous substances used or stored within the building, such as those that may be contained in cleaning materials, biocides, paints, caulks, and adhesives. Ask your suppliers to provide you with Material Safety Data Sheets. You may be unaware of the potential hazards... 

Note that the supply air should be at least 1-2 colder than the air in the lower part of the room in order to make the supply air layer at floor level. Thus, the ventilation air cannot be used for heating the room. 

NOTE The above caaes apply also where the rope is dead ended at the lower or traveling block or derrick floor after passing over a dead sheave in the crown. 

Finally, it is important to note that sodium silicate or siT ico fluoride treatments properly applied to clean and sound concrete floors can improve their performance, wear resistance and resistance to mild aqueous chemicals and oils, at a relatively low cost. However, they are not the answer to...

According to these results, the production of the additive DEHP contributes to a large extent to the total environmental impact score of the use of cushion vinyl floor covering. Note that these impacts may be caused by substances other than DEHP ... 

To estimate material-specific emissions from the waste treatment processes, landfill and incineration, of EoL cushion vinyl floor covering a supporting spreadsheet of Ecoinvent is used. The results will depend on the assumptions that are made in these models. In this project these assumptions are not studied in detail. Necessary data for the calculation of the burden are, e.g. element composition, water content, energy content, degradability in landfill, etc. Note that the Ecoinvent waste management model estimates emissions based on the element composition and some general characteristics of the materials (like degradability). One should assume that at least 200 ps of equilibration+sampling will be required for any reliable simulation in explicit water solvent. Since each simulation should be run at least twice (or forwards and backwards) to ensure a reproducible result, this means a floor of 400 ps simulation time will be required. Note that 200 ps (400 ps) is a lower bound, and that many simulations will need to be run considerably longer. It is not unusual to run protein-based simulations for a nanosecond or more to achieve convergence. For a large (protein based) system, this requires a substantial investment of computer time on today s computers. 

As a result of these findings, a scheduled standard pelvic exploration is now an obligatory procedure in clinical trials with new SERMs. It is important to note that this adverse effect has not been associated with tamoxifen or toremifene therapy (Maenpaa et al. 1997 Fisher et al. 1998), and in the case of raloxifene, a post hoc metaanalysis of 6926 nonhysterectomized postmenopausal women participating in clinical trials for 3 years or more showed a significant 50% reduction in the incidence of surgery for repairing pelvic floor relaxation, reported as an adverse event, compared with placebo (Goldstein et al. 2001). 

Figure 1 indicates a typical nitroglycerin facility "inside out" wood frame construction at a concrete floor slab. Note that the exterior cant strip, the lead conductive floor cant and the wood cap are all sloped to discourage product build-up and facilitate cleaning. This assembly also indicates spray-on foam insulation as an optional construction item. At Radford AAP this is a safety approved insulation system. The insulation at Radford AAP received a chlorinated rubber paint coating for weathering. 

A typical interior trench or floor gutter is shown in Figure 14. Note the rounded bottom shape and the canted or rounded bends of the lead conductive flooring. Also, note the requirement for rounding bearing surfaces of the cover, which prevents damage to the lead floor surfacing. 

Note that the chutes are fabricated of standard FRP sections with reinforcing rib members. Sections are bolted together. Note also that an integral support column is necessary for safety chutes extending above a second floor. The radius of the chute is shown as 6 -0" at the bottom. 

Authentic Dhurrie rugs are hand woven in India. Today, they are usually made of wool, but they are descendants of cotton floor and bed coverings. In fact, the name Dhurrie comes from the Indian word dan, which means threads of cotton. The rugs are noted for their soft colors, their varieties of design, and they make a stunning focal point for any living room or dining room. 

A historical note to this story was that Royal Copeland did not live to see his measure passed. In May, 1938, he collapsed on the Senate floor. His death occurred one month before President Roosevelt signed his bill into law.
