Flatbed trucks

Hazardous Wastes Hazardous Wastes for deliveiy to a treatment or disposal facility normally are collected by the waste producer or a licensed, speciahzed hauler. Typically, the loading of collection vehicles is completed in one of two ways (1) wastes stored in large-capacity tanks are either drained or pumped into collection vehicles, and (2) wastes stored in sealed drums or other sealed containers are loaded by hand or by mechanical equipment onto flatbed trucks. To avoid accidents and possible loss of life, two collectors shoiild always be assigned when hazardous wastes are to be collected. [Pg.2236]

Portable water tanks can be useful where water supplies are limited. Some water tanks are on fire water pumper trucks or in storage tanks on flatbed trucks. [Pg.227]

After manufacture and characterization, the SMZ was shipped to OGI on flatbed trucks in 1-m3 super sacks. As described above, the sand and SMZ were packed into the pilot-test tank in lifts around the previously installed instrumentation. The aquifer sand was placed into a hopper with a small end-loader, then traveled up a conveyor and down a large tube to the approximate location where it was needed in the tank. The sand was then further spread and leveled by hand. The SMZ was added to the barrier in a... [Pg.171]

Small-volume users of the industrial gases are supplied by high-pressure gas cylinders filled with the desired product. These cylinders then are loaded onto flatbed trucks for delivery. For larger-volume gas transportation, long-length gas cylinders are permanently mounted on trailer frames. These high-pressure-cylinder vehicles commonly are referred to as tube trailers. The cylinders are constructed of alloy steels, and are designed, built, tested, and maintained in accordance with U.S. Department of... [Pg.1219]

Is the process transportable Three CDC models can be moved on flatbed trucks (1 to 8 trailers depending on model). A DAVINCH that can be moved on a flatbed trailer is under development but not yet built. Yes. A mobile version of the SK1200 can be transported in eight containers on three flatbed trailers. Yes. [Pg.111]

A warehouse in Chicago had several battery powered lift trucks break down and a gasoline-powered lift truck from another warehouse was brought in on the back of the flatbed truck. By noon, nine employees became ill as a result of CO poisoning even though it was summer and the bay doors were open. Two of the nine employees missed several days of work because of their illnesses. [Pg.310]

In the design of Trailers and flatbed trucks for transportation of mobile electronic equipments for military applications. shock levels reaching the equipment are to be limited to a specified value, over varied input shock levels encountered from cross country terrains. To achieve this, the suspension system of the vehicle needs a scientiTic design technique. [Pg.297]

The harvested grapes are delivered primarily to the wineries in gondola tanks on a truck flatbed. The size of these containers ranges from two tons up to eight tons per container. There is no standard size for these grape containers. The size of grape load delivered also varies. [Pg.130]

Motor vehicles are those pieces of equipment that can operate both at a jobsite and on the highway. Dump trucks, flatbeds, and pickups, are some examples of these vehicles. Transporting workers, equipment, and materials would be some of their functions. [Pg.587]
