File errors

File error due to (a) illegal file name, or (b) non-existent input file specified, or (c) attempt to open file already open. [Pg.687]

If you open a file for reading and try to write to it, or vice versa, you ll get a NOT INPUT FILE or NOT OUTPUT FILE error. If your disk drive is not plugged into the serial port or is not turned on, the computer will tell you DEVICE NOT PRESENT. If you press PLAY on a Datassette (to load a program), and leave it on PLAY, then try to write a file, it will seem to work, but the file isn t actually there. There s a sensor that can tell if a button is pressed, but it doesn t distinguish between PLAY, PLAY/RECORD, or even F.FWD or REWIND. Writing a file while PLAY (but not RECORD) is pressed won t write anything. [Pg.40]

A very common file error is STRING TOO LONG, mentioned above. For strings in a file which are longer than 80 characters, you ll have to use GET rather than INPUT. GET reads in characters one by one. INPUT bites off a chunk at a time. In many cases, GET is more reliable than INPUT. ... [Pg.41]

Last Known Good Configuration This option is useful if you have changed a configuration setting in the Registry, which then causes the system to have serious problems. LKGC will not save you from a corrupt file or a deleted file error. [Pg.608]

ERROR RETURN FOR DISCREPANCY IN INPUT DATA FILE 900 ERIN>5... [Pg.343]

Note that the strict foiiriat of the ethylene output file was not followed in adding new atoms. Be careful of your connected atom list to the right of the input file it is a rich source of potential errors. Use your graph to keep the numbering straight. [Pg.111]

The Notice of Errors. The first mechanism for correction of errors is called a "Notice of Errors." This document may be filed by the patentee after issuance of the patent with the U.S. PTO and references the patent number, issue date, and the errors contained in the patent. The purpose of a Notice of Errors is to clarify the examination history of the patent and such notice dispositively corrects any misspellings, or typographical errors or omissions. One example of a problem which may be clarified by a Notice of Errors is an omitted chemical bond in a compound used in an exemplary embodiment of the invention. In short, the error is obvious and easily corrected. [Pg.36]

The Certificate of Correction. Another mechanism for correcting the patent is the "Certificate of Correction," which is essentially a petition filed by the patentee to correct minor errors in the patent produced either by the U.S. PTO or inadvertentiy by the appHcant. Unlike the Notice of Errors, a Certificate of Correction does result in an additional pubHcation from the U.S. PTO, and anyone requesting a copy of a patent in which a Certificate of Correction has been filed will also obtain the Certificate of Correction. A Certificate of Correction reflects amendments made during the examination of the patent which were entered by the examiner but not found within the issued patent. The omission of such amendments can be in the body of the patent or in the patent claims. The Certificate of Correction may also be used to correct errors in the issued patent which were not present in the patent appHcation when it was filed. If the error was caused by the patent appHcant prior to or during examination, the patent appHcant bears the cost of filing and... [Pg.36]

Some cautions are needed regarding the use of redirected input with SCREEN. Because of the way some input errors are handled by SCREEN, the SCREEN.DAT file may contain some of the errors from the original input. [Pg.300]

While SCREEN.DAT should still reproduce the correct results, it will be easier to work with the file if the original input does not contain any errors. [Pg.300]

The LER-HEP method (NUREG/ CR-3519) is a means of analyzing field data to estimate HEPs. It considers available data on specific human errors in similar to those being considered in the risk as.sessment. The application of the method in NUREG/CR-3519 is to the Licensee Event Report (LER) file so it is called the LER-HEP method. For each error analyzed by this method, an error rate is derived by dividing the number of similar errors by the estimated number of... [Pg.176]

Since dependency analysis is not needed, we can go on to the BUILD program. Go to FTAPSUIT and select 5 "Run Build." It asks you for the input file name including extender. Type "pv.pch," It asks you for name and extender of the input file for IMPORTANCE. Type, for examle, "pv.ii . It next asks for the input option. Type "5" for ba.sic event failure probabilities. This means that any failure rates must be multiplied by their mission times as shown in Table 7.4-1. (FTAPlus was written only for option 5 which uses probabilities and error factors. Other options will require hand editing of the pvn.ii file. The switch 1 is for failure rate and repair time, switch 2 is failure rate, 0 repair time, switch 3 is proportional hazard rate and 0 repair time, and switch 4 is mean time to failure and repair time.)... [Pg.306]

The filing provisions you have made should enable your records to be readily retrievable however, you need to maintain your files if the stored information is to be of any use. In practice, records will collect at the place they are created and unless promptly removed to secure files may be mislaid, lost, or inadvertently destroyed. Once complete, quality records should not be changed. If they are subsequently found to be inaccurate, new records should be created. Alterations to records should be prohibited as they bring into doubt the validity of any certification or authentication as no one will know whether the alteration was made before or after the records were authenticated. In the event that alterations are unavoidable due to time or economic reasons, errors should be struck through in order that the original wording can still be read, and the new data added and endorsed by the certifying authority. [Pg.499]

Errors in instrumentation calibration have been reduced by 90 percent due to the elimination of multiple, outdated copies of calibration procedures/data sheets. An instrument mechanic can now get the current specification from a single, up-to-date source whenever a work order is received. The time wasted in searching multiple files has been eliminated. [Pg.159]
