While intensive research effort was invested in the fuel cell field, batteries of every size have become very popular. The very small ones are used to power modern electronic portable equipment (and children s toys) and huge lead acid batteries have been introduced to power some delivery vans and other equipment which stop and start much of their working time. At the same time, research on high power density batteries has developed, but has not created the same interest and enthusiasm as the research into fuel cells. While many books have been written on fuel cells, only one has been published on the latest developments in the battery research field. [Pg.205]

Electrophoretic deposition (EPD) is anotlier metliod of casting slurries. EPD is accomplished tlirough tire controlled migration of charged particles under an applied electric field.
