Facilities, priorities definition

In the present chapter, the pharmaceutical industry validation system has been reviewed. To have an appropriate validation system it is first required to define which equipment, facilities, and processes will be validated, when they will be validated, and by whom this must be performed. This definition is based on a risk assessment priority and is written in a specific document, the so-called MVP. In order to generate an adequate validation report, all the validation activities should be described in the validation protocols, SOPs, and specific procedures. 

In general, a UV-Vis transmission experiment offers the fastest and most direct method of estimating the optical bulk band gap and should be a priority for any newly synthesized material. A diffuse reflectance or absorption configuration can be used if the sample is not transmissive. If a diffuse reflectance experiment is not available, then photocurrent spectroscopy (as described in Chapter Efficiency definitions in the field of PEC ) with extremely facile redox couples can be performed, though errors in this method may arise from poor charge carrier mobilities or lifetimes and from slow kinetics at the sample-electrolyte interface. 

Systems with especially highly important safety functions are defined in "Guide for Priority Groups of Safety Function of Light Water Nuclear Power Reactor Facilities" and instrumentation air source facilities come under this definition. 

The issue of resilience of lifelines and critical facilities is of utmost priority for the preparedness and mitigation of seismic risk a good evaluation of the resilience of the lifelines for different seismic scenarios and the implementation of pro-seismic actions to improve it are of major importance. In other words, lifeUne companies, public administration, and community need to be prepared and less vulnerable, in order to achieve a high resilience. In the last years, as the idea of the necessity of building disaster resilient communities gains acceptance, new methods have been proposed to quantify resilience beyond estimating losses. Because of the vastness of the definition, resilience necessarily has to take into account its entire complex and multiple dimensions, which includes technical, organizational, social, and economic facets (Cimellaro et al. 2010). 

The transfer of casualties to the hospital will depend on the type of emergency medical service deployed. Some countries such as France deploy medical personnel with the ambulance response teams, and these can provide definitive early life-support and antidote treatment whilst delaying transfer. Other paramedically operated ambulance services have an early transfer to the hospital as a priority, delaying treatment until reaching the emergency department. Factors affecting transfer include the number and severity of contaminated casualties, location of the incident, weather conditions, distance to the appropriate medical facilities and the resources available.
