Fabric basket-woven

The main types of filtering centrifuges are suspended batch machines, which are discontinuous in their operation automatic short-cycle batch machines and continuous conveyor centrifuges. In suspended centrufuges the filter media are canvas or other fabric or woven metal cloth. In automatic machines fine metal screens are used in conveyor centrifuges the filter medium is usually the slotted wall of the basket itself. [Pg.1011]

Woven reinforcement material constructed is by interlacing fibers, yarns, or filaments to form such fabric patterns as basket, plain, harness, satin, leno weaves, scrim, etc. These different weaving patterns are used to provide different processing and/or directional properties. There are filling threads that represent threads in the so-called machine direction warp threads represent those in the transverse direction or at 90° to the filling threads. [Pg.37]

Barathea bar-3-khe-o [ff. Barathea] (1862) M. (1) A silk, rayon, or manufactured fiber necktie fabric with a broken rib weave and a characteristic pebbly appearance. (2) A fine, dress fabric with a silk warp and worsted filling, woven in a broken filling rib, which completely covers the warp. (3) A smooth-faced worsted uniform cloth with an indistinct twilled basket weave of fine two-ply yarns. [Pg.88]

Oxford cloth n. A soft but stout shirting fabric in a modified basket weave with a large filling yarn having no twist woven under and over two single, twisted warp yarns. The fabric is usually made from cotton or polyester/cotton blends and is frequently given a silk like luster finish. [Pg.687]

Woven wire lends itself easily to fabrication of pressure filter leaves and filter baskets. It is easily applied to filter dmms. It is resistant to blinding and is easily cleaned. Stretching or shrinking is non-existent. It usually costs more than non-metallic media, but usually has a long life which helps to off-set the cost along with the other factors above. [Pg.289]

There are several available weaves of woven wire. Some of these weaves lead the product to be called woven fabric. The basic types of weaves of wire cloth, which are woven for filtration purposes, are plain, twilled, plain Dutch, twilled Dutch, plain reverse Dutch, duplex (twin warp) plain Dutch, Betamesh and braided (basket of multibraid)—see Figure 8.1. [Pg.290]

When the twilled weave is woven with multiple wires in both warp and shute, it results in a strong, dense fabric known as braided, basket or multibraid weave. The mesh openings are irregular because the multiple shute wires have a tendency to twist around each other. [Pg.291]

The Balbach-Thum cell (Fig, 4.13) is designed around a rectangular trough containing a thick, solid carbon plate cathode which covers the cell bottom. An anode basket is suspended in the top of the cell the basket is fabricated so as to support a number of silver anodes. The anodes are usually cast plates, but smaller, more irregular, pieces of silver scrap can be used. Woven cloth or polymer mesh inside the tray serves to contain insoluble anode materiaL Recovery of silver is usually by manual scraping, following cathode removal. [Pg.241]
