Evidence-based practice clinical effectiveness

In diversity and inclusion, I believe we should move toward adopting a standard for our practices that is similar to the one operating in the clinical arena. Evidence-based practice standards have been in place there for more than a decade. They are grounded in qualifications imposed by science, standardized, replicable, and effective (Drake, 2001).

Abramson and Starfield (2005) asked the right question in their article titled The Effect of Conflict of Interest on Biomedical Research and Clinical Practice Guidelines Can We Trust the Evidence in Evidence-Based Medicine Their answer is no. In clinical practice, and in the era of cost-effectiveness, the use of meta-analysis as a tool to aid medical decision making and imderpinning evidence-based medicine is here to stay.
