Event An occurrence in the supply chain that triggers the need for action. Supply chain event management refers to software solutions that monitor operating data to determine if such an event has occurred.

Supply Chain Event Management (SCEM) Software feature that monitors supply chain transaction data for predefined exceptions or events that require intervention. An example could be a late order. In such a case, the SCEM software would alert designated parties to inform them and suggest interventions. 

O Toole and Mikolaitis (2002) see the contract as central to the correct procedure for project planning and implementation. Much is written about contracts in engineering, building and software industries, and event manager can take advantage of lessons learned from successes and failures in these other industries in their use of project management. Each contract specifies who will do what, when and how. It can contain many details, or be simple letter of agreement or a purchase order. 

Two software suppliers were chosen to pilot their event management tools over a three-month period. Since the project team was located in southern California, 16 part suppliers (8 for each software tool) were chosen from the area. This was done to provide better assistance for any issues or problems that might arise during the pilot. These were local suppliers that provided machined parts to 15 different programs from the company s different manufacturing sites around the United States.

As a result of the above, suppliers of general purpose products, such as processors, compilers, and network management software, ould be concerned at their potential liabilities and lack of control over their risk. They cannot easily pick and choose their applications, which indeed may not initially be seen as safety-critical, but subsequent events could make them liable. 

Different classification systems are available to estimate the individual risk of presenting a cardiovascular event in the next 10 years. One of the most frequently used is the Framingham score risk, for which there is also software available online (Third Report of the National Cholesterol Education Program 2002), but recently several organizations involved in cardiovascular care have produced guidelines to identify and manage these risk situations (Mosca 2004). 

Additional models and software are identified in A Guide to Quantitative Risk Assessment for Offshore Installations (Spouge, 1999) which address offshore risk analysis, explosion modeling, evacuation and rescue analysis, reliability analysis, accident databases, event tree analysis, and safety management. 

When a deviation takes place, the project manager and/or tester executing the protocol must complete a test incident (or similar) report. This report describes the nature of the event, the corrective action(s) necessary to resolve the event, an assessment of the impact of the event on the test case or any related documentation, software and any subsequent test cases and/ or protocols. 

Software is a powerful resource for the coordination of analysis events and the management and visualization of data. 

When this kind of PSA study is developed, wherein top event quantification, sensitivity analysis and dynamic management of the proposed systems are required, the complexity of data processing and calculations requires the use of appropriate software, such as the processing PSA package Saphire 6.0, developed by Idaho National Laboratory for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission of the United States and which is used in this work (Smith, 2005). 

On the basis of events and activities and the order or sequence in which they will happen within the project the Project Manager can develop what is called a network diagram. The Project Manager also has to determine which activity takes precedence over another, i.e. which must happen before another can take place. These are, except in the simplest of cases, very difficult to construct by hand, unless the person is very experienced, and available software is of a great advantage. 

In addition to these tools, other tools are available to help track the status of potential risk events over the course of a project. One such tool.
