There is also a database World Translations Index (WTI) which records translations of literature in all fields of science and technology. It corresponds to the publication World Transindex . Translations covered are those from all languages into Western languages and those from other Western languages into French, Spanish and Portuguese. World Translation Index is available on the European Space Agency Information Service. The database is updated monthly and is produced by the International Translation Centre, Delft, The Netherlands, and the Institut d Information Scientifrque et Technique, Centre National de la Recherche Scientifrque, Paris, France. 

The primary sources for acquiring the FIA references have been the CHEMABS base of the ESA-IRS (European Space Agency-Information Retrieval Service) Current Awareness Service, and the Physical Chemical, and Earth Sciences section of Current Contents published by the Institute for Scientific Information, Inc. These sources have been supplemented by our own scrutiny of available periodicals of the analytical chemical literature, by the FIA bibliography listed in the recently launched Japanese Journal of Flow Injection Analysis, and by reprints supplied kindly to us by authors themselves. 

The headquarters of the HSE Library and Information Service in Sheffield acts as the UK national centre for the ILO Health and Safety Service. Through the CIS, HSE enjoys links with 50 national centres in other countries. The ILO/CIS publishes their Safety and Health Bulletin and also various bibliographies which are available to subscribers. CIS also has a database CISDOC which is available on the European Space Agency Information Retrieval service in Italy (and available in the UK via the Department of Trade and Industry)" and also Telesysteme Questel in France. Anyone accessing ESA/IRS will be able to move quickly from one database, such as HSELINE, to another, such as CISDOC. The latter is a very good source for standards and legislation produced by other countries. There is a descriptive brochure, a sample of CIS abstracts and a list of publications on occupational health and safety produced by ILO available from any of the Enquiry Points above. 

In 1982, the European Space Agency s Information Retrieval Service (ESA/IRS) introduced the ZOOM command, providing users with a mechanism to analy2e retrieved sets. In 1984, service at a baud rate of 2400 was made available by Tymnet and Telenet for pubHc access to on-line databases. In 1985, the first commercial CD-ROM drives for personal computers became available, along with the first commercial CD-ROM databases.
