In small and medium size product, assembly, the work-place for assembly should be arranged in an ergonomically optimal way. Definition of Term — Ergonomics is the science of fitting the job to the worker to reduce work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs). 

Any research in this field presupposes, then, a multidisciplinary approach and the differentiated collaboration of specialists (psychologists, informatics technicians, ergonomics experts, mediatic engineers,. ..), but also a clear option as to type of approach chosen as well as a precise definition of the limits of the areas and situations to be investigated. 

By definition, accreditation in the safety (certification) field is the process of independently assuring a certification meets a minimum set of national standards. The standards go beyond technical requirements and ensure that the examination is fair, properly developed, and administrated. Tables 25-2 and 25-3 provide information about accrediting organizations and the approximate number of safety and health, environmental, and ergonomics certification programs that are accredited.

Although this is by no means a definitive list of signs, symptoms, or outcomes of CTD issues, it presents a picture of how excessive force, frequency, and posture can influence workplace injuries. The key is to identify poor job design and workstations before injuries can occur and design new workstations and job tasks with ergonomics in mind.
