Equipment color monitors

The minimal hardware requirements, which are certainly adequate for all items discussed here, are an IBM or IBM-compatible PC equipped with at least 640 K RAM, a single floppy disk drive, at least a 40-Mbyte hard disk drive, a CD-ROM drive, a VGA color monitor, and a printer. The basic point here is that hardware requirements are minimal and readily available. In the case of the laser disk products, a laser disk drive and high resolution (VGA) monitor are also required. [Pg.105]

A number of different methods to monitor the amount of methylimidazole left in a final ionic liquid are known. NMR spectroscopy is used by most academic groups, but may have a detection limit of about 1 mol%. The photometric analysis described by Holbrey, Seddon, and Wareing has the advantage of being a relatively quick method that can be performed with standard laboratory equipment [13]. This makes it particularly suitable for monitoring of the methylimidazole content during commercial ionic liquid synthesis. The method is based on the formation and colorimetric analysis of the intensely colored complex of l-methylimidazole with cop-per(II) chloride. [Pg.25]

The glass reaction vessel is equipped with a light source, photocell, and 550-nm filter to detect the indicator color change (red to pale yellow). The signal from the photocell is continuously monitored using a strip recorder. Quantification is obtained by comparison of the time required for ozonolysis of the sample compared to that required for a pure compound with known saturation. [Pg.434]

If you can find one, a black-and-white television or computer monitor shows this effect most vividly. On a color screen, you ll see color changes in addition to the distortions. Most televisions and monitors today are equipped with automatic degaussers that alleviate distortion from the magnets in a nearby audio speaker or even from Earth s magnetic field. [Pg.102]

Operator interface with system is via a two position operator s console. Each operator has two working color CRTs and a custom keyboard. A fifth single CRT dedicated to alarm displays is shared by both operator positions. Additional equipment includes multi-pen chart recorders, alarm logger and report typer. The operator monitors operations via continuously updated custom graphic displays, status and alarm reports on the CRTs and can call up displays and execute control commands by using special function push buttons in the keyboard. [Pg.57]

ADEOS An improved, satellite Earth-observing system equipped with modernized radiometer of the visible and near-IR intervals (AYNIR), ocean color and temperature scanner (OCTS), and radiometer POLDER to carry out global systematic measurements of polarization and spectral characteristics of solar radiation reflected by the Earth-atmosphere system. The satellite ADEOS-2/ Midori-2 was launched on December 14, 2002 by the Japan Space Agency and is an ideal means of global monitoring. [Pg.293]

A 100-ml reactor connected to a cryostat equipped with a UV cell was charged with 55 ml of toluene and a-methylstyrene (22 g). While monitoring by UV, the monomer was dried by the dropwise addition of s-butyl lithium at ambienttemperature, resulting in a slightly yellow coloring of the monomer. The mixture was then cooled to —25°C, treated with s-butyl lithium (0.073 mmol), stirred for 4 hours after which 10 ml of THF... [Pg.472]

Equipment is available that can employ laboratory analytical teclmiques in instruments suited for online monitoring and detection of oily contaminants. These instruments use the principles of solvent extraction, infrared, spot testing, TOC measurement and photometric measurement of visible and ultraviolet adsorbence. They are not subject to interferences from suspended solids, air bubbles, color, oil droplet size, or dissolved solids in the water. [Pg.53]
