Enzyme manufacturing enzymes products

Biocatalysts Ltd. is an independent company that since 1980 has been devoted to the manufacture and sales enzymes. Since it is not part of a larger chemical, food ingredients or pharmaceutical company, instead of producing large volumes of commodity enzymes, it produces enzymes tailored to customer needs. Their services include working together with customers to industrialize their processes or to produce specific required enzymes. Usually, these customer sectors do not require single enzyme entities, but enzyme complexes where the ratios of each of the components are crucial to the efficacy of the whole enzyme-biocatalyst product and to the customer s process. Fermentation requirements for the manufacture of enzyme products are sub-contracted out. [Pg.250]

Novozymes is a market leader in enzyme solutions. Their manufacturing capabilities are based on an advanced biotech platform, for identifying new enzyme applications. Novozymes produces and sells more than 500 enzyme products covering more than 20 different industries in the food, feed and technical sectors, in 120 countries. With more than 75 types of enzymes and almost 600 different products, Novozymes has the world largest enzymes portfolio. [Pg.254]

Biological medicinal products manufactured by these methods include vaccines, immunosera, antigens, hormones, cytokines, enzymes and other products of fermentation (including monoclonal antibodies and products derived from rDNA). [Pg.527]

Enzymes sales are estimated to be about 10 /a world-wide. Biocatalysts are subject to a derived-demand arising from the industrial applications in which they are used, for processing raw materials to products that can be sold in their own right. Therefore the commercial importance of biocatalysts is very much greater than these sales of enzymes would indicate. Such sales values are really only of importance to enzyme manufacturer companies. Biocatalysts enable the value of raw materials to be enhanced considerably and the cost of the biocatalyst often represents only a few percent of the final value of product and the total processing costs (Table 13.2). Also, simple enzyme sales values do not include the enzymes that are made and used in-house, as occurs both for many... [Pg.493]

The microorganism manufactures the product, which may be an organic acid, an alcohol, an enzyme or other protein, an amino acid, a vitamin, an antibiotic, or other therapeutic protein. [Pg.863]

Recent developments in enzyme manufacturing have led to commercial products that contain a preponderance of one cellulase component. These mono-component enzymes are produced from modified Humicola strains and are primarily endo-glucanases active at pH 7-7.5 and are referred to as alkaline cellulases . [Pg.186]

Oxidoredutases are currently not large volume products for enzyme manufacturers but they are increasingly used in specialized applications in food industries such as colourisation or decolorisation of food products deoxygenation of foods especially beverages and processing aids particularly in bakery applications. [Pg.341]
