COLLECT performs a validate, freeing up any improperly allocated sectors. COPY and CONCAT let you copy or combine disk files on the same disk or between drives on a dualdrive system (but not with separate drives addressed with different device numbers). BACKUP can also be used only with a dual drive to copy one disk to another. APPEND lets you add new data to an existing file. DOPEN and DCLOSE make file handling easier, and RECORD makes relative files a breeze. The reserved variables DS and DS let you examine the disk error channel. DCLEAR clears all open disk channels. [Pg.7]

The operating system fully supports communications through this port. By addressing a peripheral attached to this port with a device number, and using OPEN, CLOSE,... [Pg.14]

PRINT, INPUT, and related routines provided by the operating system, you can avoid worr)dng with the details of controlling the individual signal lines. Any peripheral addressed with a device number between 4 and 31 (the highest device number allowed) is assumed by the computer to be connected to this port. [Pg.14]

Commodore has established several standards for device numbers Printers are usually device 4, although some can be changed to device 5, the 1520 Printer/Plotter is designed to be device 6, and device numbers 8 and above usually refer to disk drives. Device 8 is the default number for the disk drive, and almost all software assumes the disk drive will have this device number device 9 is the most common choice for a second drive. Commodore 1541 and 1571 drives allow you to select any device number via software, or numbers 8-11 via hardware. [Pg.14]

Along the way, many 64 owners, and especially 128 owners, have opted to use a disk storage system. If you use a disk drive, though, you have to type the device number—,8—after each command (as in UDAD"filename",8). This can become bothersome after awhile. [Pg.243]

Appendix C herein gives the IEEE device numbers that are most commonly used, together with their descriptions that are typically used in the oil industry. [Pg.313]

The requirements for the different types of HV and LV circuits in a typical oil industry power system are summarised below. The IEEE device numbers commonly used in the oil industry are listed in sub-section C.l. [Pg.533]

Peak floor displacements in the stmcture under the artificial and natural earthquake records for the four study cases specified above are shown in Figure 5. As it follows from this figure, reduction in peak values of floor displacements under the natural earthquakes were very significant. Using amplifiers allowed reduction of control devices number to 9 and resulted in an effect that was equivalent to that obtained by 21 devices connected to Chevron braces. [Pg.243]

Camera systems can be installed with device number, type, and placement being limited only by the available budget At a minimum, a camera on each entrance and each exit to the school should be used. Additional cameras should be considered for areas of special concern, such as cash-handling areas or chemical-storage locations. The camera feeds should be routed to a monitoring station for real-time viewing, and they should be recorded for later review if an incident occurs. [Pg.100]
